1. Responsible for project leadership and work as a team member. 2. Plan and execute experiments independently and effectively. 3. Meet milestones. 4. Develop cell culture systems of selected plant species. 5. Exploit plant organ and cell culture systems for the production of important natural molecules. 6. Monitor, assess and apply emerging technology developments to facilitate research progress. | |

Profile (Knowledge/Skills/Attitudes):
1. PhD degree in plant science. 2. Good understanding of metabolic pathways, especially secondary metabolisms in plants. 3. Good knowledge of plant physiology and plant development. 4. Excellent experience and proven skills in plant organ, tissue or cell culture. 5. Passion in phytochemistry and plant metabolic engineering. 6. Demonstrated abilities in creative thinking and effective problem-solving. 7. Proven time management skills. 8. Excellent team-working and collaborative spirit with good inter-personal skills. 9. Firmenich R&D center based in Shanghai was established in 2006. It is currently looking for one talented plant scientist (initially for 2 years) to strengthen its research activities in plant secondary metabolism. As a successful applicant, you are expected to use state-of-art biotechnological tools to exploit metabolic pathways of interest in plant and / or plant cell systems, and to make important contributions in modification and production of high-value natural molecules through innovative approaches.
