Honeywell has a long history in China that goes back to 1935 when it established the first franchise in Shanghai. When U.S. President Nixon visited China in 1973, he was invited by the Chinese government to recommend the best enterprises from 10 sectors to drive the bilateral exchanges between two countries, and to accelerate China's modernization development.  Honeywell’s wholly-owned subsidiary UOP was the only company in the field of refining and batch chemicals being selected and recommended to the Chinese government. Another new starting point for Honeywell to integrate into China’s economic growth was when China opened the door to its economy in the 1980s, and was among the first multinationals to set up a representative office in Beijing, where they began a series of high-quality investments. Today, all of Honeywell’s four Strategic Business Groups are represented in China, and all of them have relocated their Asia Pacific headquarters to China.  Over the years, more than 30 subsidiaries and joint ventures have been set up in several cities across the country. As of today, Honeywell has invested $600 million in China and employed over 11,000 people.

Aerospace

The Aerospace business is also actively developing local sourcing and engineering projects with leading Chinese aerospace manufacturers, universities, and Honeywell’s in-country technology labs.

Automation & Control Solutions

Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS) offer a complete portfolio of innovative products, solutions and systems to create safer, more comfortable, more secure, and more energy efficient environments. With approximately 55,000 employees, ACS comprises six businesses that sell, manufacture and deliver products and services to consumers, businesses and industries in every region of the world. The ACS business includes Environmental and Combustion Controls (ECC), Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS), Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS), Life Safety, Security and Sensing and Control (S&C). Transportation Systems comprises three businesses: Turbo Technologies, Consumer Products Group and Friction Material.  From fuel-saving turbochargers, spark plugs and automotive filters to safety-enhancing brake materials, ice-fighters and emergency roadside accessories, Honeywell technologies enhance the performance, efficiency and appearance of vehicles around the world.  With a history of more than 100 years, Honeywell Turbo Technologies is the world’s leading manufacturer of turbocharger. One of its 13 factories worldwide manufacturing and selling turbochargers and turbocharging systems is based in Shanghai, and supports well-known domestic enterprises as a preferred partner. Meanwhile, its branded car care products provide a large number of car owners with world-class products and services at very competitive local prices.

Specialty Materials
