Post doctoral position is available in following research area:
Microalgal technology for waste streams reutilisation
Position is advertised for work in the area of algae cultivation and biochemistry with prof. Jay Cheng and dr Maurycy Daroch at Engineering Laboratory for Algal Biofuel Development of Peking University School of Environment and Energy.
Duties: Conducting research activities in ongoing projects: lab- and pilot- scale research on cultivation of microalgae for the generation of biofuels and bioproducts, analysis of experimental data, preparation of research reports and scientific papers, assistance in the development of new research plans.
Requirements: Candidates for post doctoral position must have a PhD degree in biological, chemical or equivalent sciences. Research experience in microalgae cultivation and utilisation of concentrated CO2 sources (e.g. flue gasses) for microalgae cultivation and biochemical analyses of microalgal biomass is required. Previous experience in genetic engineering of microalgae and/or cyanobacteria, DNA construct preparation and analysis of “-omics” data is desirable but not required.
All candidates should be highly motivated with excellent written and oral communication skills in English, computer proficiency, strong collaborative skills. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is desirable but not required.
Salary: From 170,000 CNY per annum. Exact remuneration above this salary band depends on: qualifications, publication record and government policies eligibility criteria. International candidates are exempted from income tax for a period of 2-5 years depending on nationality.
Start: January 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter
