Caravel China Limited Beijing Representative Office is looking to hire a graduate as a junior research analyst. 

Applicants should be masters or fourth year students and should be free to start a permanent role after graduating in summer 2015.  During the interview process, an internship in Caravel Beijing office may be offered to the best candidates. And the intern who demonstrates the most aptitude for the role will be hired on a full-time basis.  Interns will receive a stipend during their internship.

The Role

Successful interns will join the Research team at Caravel, providing research and analysis on dry bulk freight and commodities markets for the Caravel Resources and Caravel Maritime teams.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Assisting the research team with daily analysis of market driving forces through reporting and timely updates on regulatory changes in key regional countries

• Compiling, updating, and reviewing statistical data in commodities balance sheets, macroeconomic monitoring, and cargo shipment follow-ups to offer a comprehensive understanding of supply and demand of iron ore and freight

• Bringing challenging analysis and original ideas to the team

Education / technical skills required

• Major in engineering, mathematics, economics or a related field

• High level of numeracy and an aptitude for statistics

• Good written and spoken English

• Excellent Excel skills
