Supplier Quality Engineer - Electrical |
Job Description:
Supplier Quality Engineer takes the supply quality ownership inside supply chain; ensure the purchased parts meet divisional objectives including quality, reliability, cost and product safety.
The primary duties and responsibilities will be
1.Manage supplier operation performance
a)Drive continuous improvement in supplier quality metrics (defect on arrival, line disruption, DPPM, etc.);
b)Lead process improvements in the suppliers' design and manufacturing capabilities to improve quality and lower cost.
2.Jointly work with Commodity Managers / Supplier Relationship Managers to develop and implement commodity strategies
a)Evaluate and select suppliers based upon their ability to design, and the capability of their processes to manufacture parts that meet divisional needs.
b)Establish appropriate criteria to evaluate supplier performance in the Technology and Quality areas of TQRDCE.
c)Conduct Part Qualification with MFG&QA engineers for re-sourcing or any other qualification requests
3.Provide technical support and qualify supplier process for New Product Introduction
a)Consult and guide R&D and Manufacturing Engineers in the development of part specifications.
b)Conduct design for manufacturing review and ensure supplier process capability for new purchased parts
c)Advise and guide R&D and Manufacturing Engineers on techniques for new part selection and qualification.
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor Degree or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent
2.Knowledge in interconnect and electrical component, PCBA manufacturing process will be a plus.
3.Excellent analytical problem solving skills
4.Good data mining skills, strong data driven decision making capability.
5.Demonstrated the abilities to produce useful engineering solutions for assigned problems in an independent and collaborative manner.
6.Thrill to learning new knowledge and skills.
7.Excellent speaking, listening, writing and reading English skill, good reporting and presentation skills.
8.Demonstrated leadership skills and planning capability skills
9.Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and interfacing with teams that are both located locally and globally.
