Investment Analyst Job Description

Xingtai Capital is a Long only Absolute Return China Fund with offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Xingtai Capital seeks an Investment Analyst to join its team in Shanghai.  All Investment Analysts report directly to the Portfolio Manager and play an important role in identifying and analyzing investment opportunities.  Candidates should have (a) a strong interest in the public equity markets; (b) a clear understanding of what it takes to be a good investor; (c) an understanding of portfolio management theory; (d) a strong grasp of quantitative and qualitative equity analyst tools; and (e) the discipline and ability to take prudent risks.

The Investment Analyst’s focus will be entirely on the Chinese market, mainly covering the A-Share market and the H-Share market, with a secondary focus on U.S. ADRs, and therefore a strong grasp of Chinese equity markets, business environment, language, culture and economy is critical. Requirements

• Driven, self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete tasks on time
• Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills and ability to support investment recommendations with in-depth fundamental analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Mandarin Chinese and English
• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Excellent academic achievement
• Undergraduate degree majoring in Finance or Master of Finance strongly preferred
