The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company announced that it has established its first development center inPulandian,Chinaon March 26, 2015. Located at the company’s state-of-art tire manufacturing facility here, the new center expands Goodyear’s capabilities in the Asia Pacific region and will enable it to increase the speed and efficiency of high-value-added tire development, especially for Chinese automakers.

The newChinadevelopment center will be an integral part of our network of global innovation centers and strengthen our innovation leadership role in the global tire industry. It will also allow the company to enter new original equipment platforms inChina, including new energy vehicles.

We're currently looking for the Construction Engineer and Material Engineer forGoodyearDevelopmentCenterinChina. Please find detailed information as follows:

目前固特异中国研究开发中心的结构工程师及材料工程师岗位空缺，正在寻找合适的候选人。详细信息如下：

 

Mold Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Position

1. Provide CAD support     to Automotive Engineering (customer outline dwg, profile dwg, etc.)
2. Provide CAD support     to the departments 'Governance Compliance' (certification drawings)

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1.     
Generate approval drawings for OEMs according to the Customer's requirements, in due time and with highest quality standard.

2.     
Generate drawings for tire certifications (Taiwan,Vietnam, CCC, BIS, etc.) according to the government's requirements, in due time and with highest quality standard.

3.     
Provide the Customers with required drawing's formats via appropriate transfer systems.

4.     
Understand the needs of Automotive Engineering/OEMs to meet their requirements in term of approval drawings.

5.     
Continuous process improvement related activities.

6.     
Maintain OE dwg documentation up to date (dwg layouts, dwg formats, etc.).

Qualifications:

1.     
Engineering degree in a technical discipline is required, Master degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent is desired

2.     
Product design or product engineering

3.     
Experience in Lettering definition and/or Tire Engineering is an asset

4.     
Fluent in English

5.     
CAD/CAM: Catia V5 and/or similar systems

6.     
Good communication and interpersonal skills

7.     
Good organizational and planning skills

8.     
Team player

9.     
Curious and open minded

10. 
Able to work independently

Construction Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Position       

Develop, validate and implement new tire products using experimental & predictive approaches in interactions with others functions / departments

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities        

1. Product development     and improvement:

-Use tire engineering design standards to develop new products and support Applied     and Functional projects

-Support implementation of new products in production and maintenance activities

-Improve and enhance problem solving strategies

2. Process:

-Understand, follow and apply the Global Design standards

-Make improvements to or enhances current processes and tools within functional group

3. Technology:

-Implement latest technologies in product development to ensure premium performance

-Improve and enhance documentation of the created knowledge

4. Standards:

-Ensure product conformity to internal, external and legal standards          

      

Qualifications：

1. Bachelor degree in     Mechanical Engineering with at least 2-3 years engineering experience.     Master degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
2. Product Design     Experience.
3. Manufacturing     Experience.
4. Lean & 6 sigma     experience.
5. Desired project     management experience
6. Must have good     knowledge of CAD tools (preferred software Catia V5)
7. MS Office (World,     Excel, Power Point)
8. VBA, SAP &     statistical tools are an asset

Material Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Position       

The highly motivated and hands-on associate is to identify and develop new material technologies that address current and future business needs from our Compounding Technology – Consumer team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for high performance application development. The associate will be responsible for developing new tire components which demonstrate performance in tire applications.

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities        

1. Develop tire     components for optimal performance while considering cost and environment
2. Design laboratory     studies to evaluate material technologies, and interpret the results based     on the underlying chemistry and physics of the materials being studied
3. Provide onsite     assistance during plant trials as required     
4. Effective     communication and collaboration with design teams, customers and     manufacturing to ensure successful development and technology transfer

Qualifications：

1. Bachelor degree     with at least 2-3 years engineering experience. Master degree is preferred     in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials or Polymer Science.
2. Several years of     experience in elastomeric applications is preferred
3. Experience in     understanding structure/property relationships in materials is preferred
4. Familiarity with     polymers, fillers, and/or reinforced composites is required
5. Proficiency in the     statistical design and analysis of experimental data is required
6. Strong     interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams will be required
7. Exceptional     communication and technical documentation skills will be required
8. Open minded,     optimistic, and collaborative with a strong sense of urgency
9. Fluent in Chinese     & English
