Interested candidates are invited to apply for several new staff researcher opportunities specializing in the development and application of novel predictive analytics, mathematical optimization and data mining methodology and algorithms to create new differentiated offerings for KooRun’s solutions and services such as smarter cities, smart transportation, and business analytics, at the KooRun Research Lab, in Xi’an, China.

The hiring research team is focusing on smarter city innovations leveraging advanced IT technologies and business analytics, We are seeking world-class candidates for research scientist positions to work on a broad array of projects in the following topic areas:

• Mathematical Programming

• Statistical Modeling (Time Series Analysis and Forecasting)

• Data Mining

• Stochastic Modeling & Analysis

We are seeking an Algorithm& Data Analytics Researcher

Based on big data (transactional and interactional data, structured and unstructured data)of a specific industry, apply data engineering on big volume of data, and implement analyze algorithms on Hadoop to build solution to provide business operational insight, optimized business process, or discover new business opportunity etc.

Required Skills:

1) Deep knowledge and experience of algorithm design and implementation, especially on machine learning algorithm and parallel algorithm on Hadoop

2) Passion for technology, open to interdisciplinary work, and experience in building data-driven services and applications

3) Deep knowledge and hands-on experiences in machine learning machine learning technologies：natural language processing(sentiment analysis, topic extraction), user behaviors analysis, social network analysis

4) Independent, energetic, highly technical, and capable of driving for results under pressure and ambiguity

5) Any of below will be a great plus

• data engineering or analysis on big volume of data

• familiar with Mahout, Lucene, R on Hadoop

Cognitive Computing and Artificial Intelligence Researcher

Job Responsibility:

As a Research Staff Member at KooRun Smart City Lab in Cognitive Computing department, you will conduct research, develop and deliver innovative technologies leveraging a variety of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning related capabilities. These technologies include (but not limited to)

• Chinese Natural Language Processing / Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and Dialogue Management

• Image and Video Analysis

• Ontology and Knowledge Graph

• Knowledge Representation and Reasoning

• Supervised learning and Unsupervised learning

• HCI/Speech Technologies

• Data Stream

• XML

• Semantic Query and Semantic Search

• Linked Data and Social Media, etc.

Job Requirements:

This position requires creativity, dexterity, and technical depth to solve real-world problems, and the successful candidate will require strong analytical, leadership, and excellent communication skills along with the drive to deliver real-world innovative technologies and solutions to impact the research agenda.

We are looking for candidates with PhD degree in Linguistics, Information Science, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related areas, with the following qualifications to strengthen our team:

• Outstanding researcher with a proven track-record on both conceptual and empirical aspects in the areas of NLP and HCI, or a related area;

• Good software development experience and programming skills to implement algorithms and conduct experiments.

Cloud Computing Researcher:

This position requires creativity, dexterity, and technical depth to solve real problems and the successful candidate will require strong analytical, leadership, and excellent communication skills.

We are looking for candidates with Ph.D. or experienced Master in Computer Science, Automation, Electronics Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related areas, with the following qualifications:

• 3 years working experience in Cloud Computing or related areas.

• Outstanding researcher with a proven track-record in the areas of Cloud computing, big data analytics, system and software engineering, or related areas

• Advanced knowledge of open source cloud solutions like OpenStack, CloudFoundry, etc

• Strong experience in cloud infrastructure development, deployment and optimization, including the virtual computing, software defined networking and storage areas.

• Deep knowledge and research experience in hypervisor technology, networking technology, or distributed file system, will be good plus.

• Deep knowledge and experiences on data and mathematical modeling, data statistics, data mining, analytics and optimization

• Good software development experience and programming skills

• Experience on OpenStack, CloudStack or other Cloud management tools is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills;

• Creativity, enthusiasm and self-motivation.

• Team-work and good Chinese or English communication skills

• Strong experience in large cloud development or operation is a plus

• International education/working experience a plus
