Job Description – Legal Intern
I. Background Information
Position Title: Contract Administration Intern
Function/Department: GM China LGL
Location: Shanghai, China
II. Areas of Responsibility
Perform various activities relating to contract administration, typical duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- To build an accessible filing system for current files and train all the team members so that everyone can access whenever needed
- To collect, classify and maintain various contracts or contract related documents;
- To maintain the updated reports for the status of various projects/contracts;
- To prepare/draft documents in connection to contract administration or execute other contract related assignments under guidance/supervision of responsible attorney(s);
- Other tasks assigned if needed
III. Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- Good English and Chinese oral and written skill
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
- IT background, experience on contract or project administration, cataloging, archiving or library science would be a plus
- Highly efficient and organized
- Team player and quick learner
- Integrity and reliable
- Able to work for a minimum of 3 days a week and commit 6 months.

I. Background Information
Function/Department: China Planning & Program Management
Required travel frequency: N/A
II. Purpose
The intern will support GM China’s Long Term Forecasting team, in areas of data processing, analysis and volume forecasting.
III. Areas of Responsibility
- Work with counterparts in GM China Planning team and joint ventures on long term volume forecast/powertrain mix and process them into existing systems/spreadsheets, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct sense-check on joint venture submitted data, in terms of volume, price positioning, competitor-benchmarking and brand strength.
- Assist to analyze industry, segment and competitors trend to support long term industry & segment projection and volume forecast.
- Support other planning and forecasting initiative study on ad-hoc basis.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in every step of the work.
Qualification:
Knowledge
- Sense of business, economy and statistics.
- Knowledge of automotive industry and products, market research methods.
Skills/ Competencies
- Strong quantitative skill and "numerical sense" - comfortable and competent in dealing with large amount of numbers.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office on Excel a must, good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint are pluses.
- Good attentions to details including data and information.
- Adequate communication skills in English including writing, listening and speaking.
- Strong interest to learn about the auto industry and eager to learn new skills are highly desirable.
- Strong business acumen – understand the automotive business model and how it functions.
- Strong ability to organize, analyze and interpret data/information to derive insights.
- Good time management skills and high degree of self-motivation.
- Able to work under tight time pressure.
Experience/Education:
- Current Master/MBA students in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance or other relevant majors.
- Prior internship experience with foreign enterprises in consumer goods or consulting industry desirable.
