Opportunity for the smart and innovative! Postdoctoral and PhD positions:

Research and Development on Wearable Acupoint Diagnostic and Treatment Devices

1. Brief Introduction.
Postdoctoral and PhD applications are invited to join an exciting team at Hong Kong Baptist University (Haimen) Institute of Science and Technology (IST;wx***com[点击查看] to embark on R&D studies on Wearable Acupoint Diagnostic and Treatment Devices. These devices will be used to monitor and treat pain conditions, as well as other conditions that have been treated by acupuncture and moxibustion traditionally. The research team is supported by the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University (sc***.hk[点击查看]) and the Hong Kong Baptist University Institute of Research and Continuing Education at Shenzhen （sz***.hk[点击查看]). Additional support has been secured from private donations for the R&D activities.

2. Requirements
For postdoctoral candidates, the applicant is expected to have degrees and working background in electronic engineering, as well as SCI publications. He/she must be able to work independently and have good teamwork spirit. Experiences in electronic circuit design, bio-stimulation or bio-sensing, bio-electronic materials and product design will be highly desirable.

For PhD candidates, the applicant must have a first degree in either Chinese medicine or electronic engineering and one SCI publication. A master degree in a relevant field is desirable. The candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and have good teamwork spirit.

3. Remuneration and Career opportunities
An annual salary of RMB180,000 (approx. USD28,000) will be provided for the postdoctoral position. If working in Haimen, a two-bedroom accommodation will also be provided. The team leader A/Prof. Zhang Shi Ping (sc***.hk[点击查看] ) will provide career training in Hong Kong and opportunities for international exchanges.

Stipend for PhD students will be in line with scholarship schemes provided by HKBU or by the Hong Kong Postgraduate Fellowship (ce***.hk[点击查看])

In addition, key research personnel with significant contributions will have a share of the financial benefits derived from invented products, if any (subject to separate agreements).

4. Duty description of the postdoctoral position
Electronic circuit design, prototype development, product testing, etc.
