Salary & Benefits: RMB78,000 – RMB124,000 per annum before all deductions, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualification

Essential

• Bachelor degree or equivalent in engineering background, e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering etc.
• Good communication skills, including written and spoken English; computer literacy and IT skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Have good understanding in building operation systems, e.g. air conditioning system, ventilation system, heating system.
• Previous experience of specific role and duty to the level of assistant engineer or above.
• State of any legal/statutory obligations on the employee such as being registered with a professional or regulatory body.
• Problem solving skills; Good organisation and time management skills; good team player; work independently when required;
• Willingness to develop a continuously improving career in the related profession and in the University environment.

  Desirable

  • Relevant technical qualification at the MSc or MEng level.
  • In depth knowledge, skills and experience in services of building and its facilities. Willingness and capability to prepare and give presentations of technical information.
  • Two or more years of experiences in services of building and related facilities.
  • State recognised professional status such as membership of a relevant professional body. 
  • Willingness and ability to deal with emergency in relation with building and related facilities.
  • Willingness to contribute to publications for (1) increasing public awareness of, and (2) publicising research outcome related to efficient and advanced energy technologies.

   

  Job Outline               

  The role holder will provide technical support for teaching and research in CSET and maintenance of the CSET building and its building operation facilities.

   

  Main Duties and Responsibilities

   

  • Maintenance and operation of all heavy duty research and engineering equipment in CSET.
  • Maintenance of, and safety and health management in the CSET building.
  • To support CSET related projects, including research projects.
  • Procurement and documentation of materials and processes.
  • Support for research students and staff during experiment.
  • To provide day-to-day management of the laboratory, including safe laboratory practice.
  • Receiving visitors to CSET.
    • To provide monthly reports to the director of CSET.
    • To undertake any other duties, as required, to support the activities of CSET.
