Job Description

The candidate will develop probabilistic/ optimization methods for better life evaluation and improved risk assessments based on the current component design/analysis of a gas turbine.

Responsibilities:

 

• Development, application, and validation of methods and programs for probabilistic assessments and optimization in gas turbine component design

 

• Structural analysis and life evaluation for gas turbine components

 

• Application of numerical methods and optimization algorithms in gas turbine engineering

 

• Work in interdisciplinary teams to apply and improve probabilistic methods in the development process of turbomachinery components

 

• Documentation and presentation of methods, processes, and project results

 

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

• Master degree and above in physics, mechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, or equivalent

 

• 5 years’ experience in R&D team

 

• Proven record in innovative thinking and problem solving;

 

• Knowledge of method of optimization/ probabilistic/ uncertainty qualification;

 

• Good communication skills, fluent in both Chinese and English, cross-cultural understanding

 

• Good knowledge in statistics (uncertainty quantification, time series analysis, maximum likelihood estimation, random fields, failure analysis)

 

• Basic knowledge in gas turbine engineering

 

• Solid knowledge in numerical and optimization methods (deterministic, stochastic and multi-objective)

 

• Good skills in Linux and shell scripting, as well as object-oriented programming (C , Java, Perl, Python)

 

Plus:

• Rich working experience in structural/thermal FEA analysis, lifing calculation, such as low cycle fatigue, facture mechanics;

 

• Excellent in Ansys/ Abaqus/ NX and related FEA scripting;
