PositionSummary:
STLseeksahighlymotivatedanddetail-orientedOfficer/SeniorOfficerofHumanResourceswhowillberesponsibleformanagingschool-levelHRmatters,withprimaryfocusonmobility,compensationandbenefits,andrecruitment.TheOfficer/SeniorOfficerofHumanResourceswillworkinateamenvironmentwithSTL’sotheradministrativeofficesandwillliaisonwithPekingUniversityShenzhenGraduateSchool(PKUSZ)centraladministrationonHR-relatedmatters.
PrincipalResponsibilities:
Mobility
Establish,improveandimplementmobility-relatedproceduresandpoliciestopromotesmoothworkflowanddeliverhigh-qualityservicesandsupporttoexpatriatefacultyandstaff;
Masterimmigrationregulationsandrulesnecessarytoassistforeignvisitorsandexpatriateemployeescomplywithappropriatevisarequirements;
Serveasmainpointofcontactforfaculty,staffandtheirfamilies,coordinatingpre-assignment,on-assignmentandrepatriationplanningandprovidingon-the-groundsupportforimmigrationclearance,shippingarrangements,settling-inorientation,housing,schoolingandotherdailylifeinquiriesandneedsfrominternalcustomers;
Developandmaintaininternalandexternalcommunicationplansandliteratureonavarietyofindividualandgeneralissues,handlingroutineday-to-daymiscellaneousinquiriesandrequirements;
Developandmaintainregularandadhocreportingandadviseonimprovementactionsbasedonfindingsasrequired.
CompensationandBenefits
Workcloselywith(i)STLDeanstoestablishcompensationandbenefitspackagesforSTLemployees,and(ii)PKUSZHRofficeresponsibleforBenefits,PayrollandCompensationtoimplementSTLemployeecompensationandbenefitspackagesinaccordancewithUniversitypolicies;
Recommendprocessimprovementsandpolicyrecommendations;developandmaintainChinaSocialSecurityProgramandexpatriate-employeeinsuranceprograms;
Adviseandworkwithexternalserviceprovider(s)onChinaindividualincometaxesandtaxequalizationprogramsforSTLexpatriateemployees;
Primarybackupforpayrollprocessingandrelatedactivity.
Recruitment
WorkwithSTLDeansanddepartmentalleaderstodevelopjobdescriptionsforstaffpositions,formsearchstrategies,andplanrecruitmentschedule,events,andotherinitiatives;
Managecandidateevaluationandselectionprocess,facilitatehiringdecisions,andensuresoundcommunicationwithcandidate,STLinternalleadersandUniversity;
Coordinateon-boardingprocessforallnewstaffhires,includinganorientationwithSTLdepartmentsandPKUSZHRoffice.
Others
WorkwithPKUSZHRofficeonstaffattendanceandperformancerecordingandconductmonthlyreports/feedback;
WorkwithSTLDeansandPKUSZHRofficeonfacultypromotionandcontractrenewal;
AssistwiththedevelopmentofprofessionaldevelopmentprogramsforSTLstaff;
MaintainrelationshipswithSAFEAShenzhenandnecessarygovernmentdepartments;
ServeasSTL’sscientificresearchsecretary,whichprincipallyinvolvesassistingfacultywithscientificresearchprogramapplicationsandreportingscientificresearchachievementstoPKUSZ;
ProvidesupportandbackupforotherSTLteammembers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor'sdegreeorhigher,preferablyinHRorotherrelevantdisciplines;
Priorexperienceinhumanresourcesmanagementand/orinexpatriatemanagementinabilingualmultinationalorganization;
ProficiencyinbothwrittenandspokenEnglishandMandarinwiththeabilitytocommunicateandinfluencewithconfidenceandclarity;
Abilitytomaintainstrictconfidentialityregardingcompensation,benefits,andemployeeissues;
Abilitytoworkindependently,aswellascollaborativelyandcollegiallyinateamsetting;
Exceptionalinterpersonal,organizationalandbusinesscommunicationskillsinaninternationalandcross-culturalenvironment;
Demonstratedproblemsolvingcapabilitiesandstrongattentiontodetail;accuracyisessential;
Abilitytohandlemultipleprojectsanddeadlines.
