Job Description As a System Compatibility Technician in the DRAM Engineering Group at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for troubleshooting problems with Micron products in end user applications, utilizing tools such as a digital multimeter and an oscilloscope. In this role, you will work with engineering to run tests and review data for accuracy and completeness, create customized customer reports and graphs, and conduct followup experiments as needed. You will also set up PC, workstation or server systems by procuring required components, loading operating systems with drivers, and testing for functionality. You will setup and modify test platforms using interposers or ball grid array (BGA) sockets, and perform rework by soldering under a microscope. You may also be responsible for collecting and analyzing data for TSA and systems component characterization using logic analyzers or oscilloscopes. Responsibilities and Tasks Perform Rework (Soldering) Create and modify test platforms (logic analyzer interposer, oscilloscope interposer, BGA socket) Solder under a microscope Utilize tools: microscope, Ball Grid Array (BGA) rework machine, soldering iron Test rework for functionality Set Up, Test, and Debug PC, Work Station, or Server Identify needs Procure required components Build system Load operating system with drivers Test system for functionality Troubleshoot issues and take appropriate actions to resolve Load and test software Troubleshoot and Debug Issues with Micron Products in EndUser Applications Utilize test equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, digital multimeter) Utilize software tools for analysis debug Collect and Analyze Data Determine expected results Compare acquired results with expected results Communicate data Perform Timing and Signal Analysis (TSA) Collect data using analysis tools Archive data Review data for accuracy and completeness Create reports and graphs Summarize TSA data and communicate results Conduct followup TSA Continually Acquire New Skills (Software/Hardware) and Knowledge Keep abreast of new technology, development tools, and development techniques Analyze new tools for advantages over current tool sets Education Required Associates Degree or equivalent experience Electronics Related field of study Experience Not Specified Qualifications Must have fine motor skills to perform soldering under a microscope Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, deliverables, and resource requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to collaborate well with team members and drive for results Excellent organizational and management skills and outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills Ability to work under tight timeframes and prioritize competing activities Good multitasking and problem solving skills High degree of self initiative and ability to think and act independently Ability and willingness to travel when required Familiarity with basic semiconductor processing, device physics, quality and reliability fundamentals
