International recruitment experts Hays is currently seeking outstanding graduates to enrol on the Dubai Business Internship programme. This unique programme is run by Falcon and Associates, a strategic advisory company working on behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
About
The Dubai Business Internship programme targets university graduates to offer them a unique opportunity of academic modules combined with placements in Dubai’s leading corporations.
Programme participants learn how to do business in the region and graduate with a knowledge of Dubai, and of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, United Arab Emirates Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and his father before him. A true success story, Dubai has transformed from a small fishing village into a thriving commercial metropolis in just four decades.
The 10 month fully funded academic and business internship programme, delivered by Falcon and Associates, will be offered to a select group of Chinese, American, Russian and Kazakhs graduates.
Applications will open on November 30th, 2016 and close on March 31st, 2017. Early applications will be especially welcomed.
Programme Structure
The Dubai Business Internships has been designed around three fundamental pillars for success: business experience, management training and cultural understanding.
Business Internship
Participants will complete an internship with one of the emirate’s home-grown global leaders in a sector central to its economy, including trade, tourism, finance and logistics. The invaluable experience will provide participants with an understanding of how to operate within an international business environment.
Management Training
Management training is an integral aspect of the programme. Combining practical experience with learning and development modules will provide participants with a better understanding and knowledge of fundamental business concepts and doing business in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region.
Cultural Understanding
A Dubai Business Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain a privileged insight into Dubai’s cultural communities and to develop cross-cultural communication skills. Participants will have access to influential business leaders and opinion formers from across Dubai, the UAE and the rest of the world.
Who should apply?
Dubai
Business Internships is open to recent university graduates from China,
USA, Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as those with up to three years’
working experience. Proficiency in both verbal and written English is
required. A keen interest in international business combined with a
curious and inquiring mind is preferred.
FAQs
1. Which company will I work at?
We cannot confirm the name of any placement companies before official offers have been made. The placement companies listed on the website do not represent the entirety of those involved in the programme and there will be continuous additions over the course of the following months.
2. What positions/jobs are available for me in the programme? Will I be assigned to the task that is related to my education background?
Your strengths will be identified during the programme and you will be allocated according to these, as well as focusing on the requirements from the varying companies.
All positions on the DBI programme will be allocated dependant on the requirements of the host company and both the educational background and personal interest of the intern.
3. During 10 months in Dubai, how many times can I fly back to Country where currently residing?
Once. There will be a two week break in the programme schedule for Chinese New Year where there is the opportunity for interns to travel back to China. Many interns however use this opportunity to travel to other places in the world given Dubai’s ideal geographical location.
4. After the internship, will I be offered a full time job in Dubai, or home country? Potentially either location depending on an applicant’s performance on the programme as well as requirements from the varying companies.
There is no guarantee that roles will be offered to interns on completion of the internship. Dependant on the requirements of the host company and the performance of the intern however, positions may be offered in Dubai.
5. If I get admitted to this programme, will Falcon provide us with a contract?
Yes. Falcon will be responsible for all administrative processes.
6. If I can secure a full time job after the DBI will it be Falcon and Associates that provide the offer letter and contract or will it be the company that I get the full time job with?
If a host company wishes to offer employment to an intern, the offer letter and subsequent contract will be managed by them.
