冷泉港亚洲DNA学习中心（以下简称“中心”）由苏州工业园区管委会和美国冷泉港实验室合作成立。中心坐落于独墅湖高教区生物纳米园内，占地面积2.5公顷，总建筑面积4454.5平方米，目前为亚太同类机构中规模最大、 国内首家专注于基因科学教育及知识分享的机构。中心运用国际最先进的方法面向青少年开展生物科学教育及培训，旨在把美国的成功教学模式原汁原味地移栽到中国，并为当前中国急需的科普教育探索出一条国际化、专业化、趣味化的新路。

自2016年6月正式对外开放以来，中心已为近万人次普及了基因科普知识，获得了中国科协、苏州市委领导及大众媒体的广泛关注。中心教师还陆续走进苏州中小学校，进行科普知识宣传，受到了学校、家长与孩子们的广泛欢迎。

一、招聘计划及性质

中心聘用人员均实行合同聘任，岗位管理。根据《苏州工业园区社会保险（公积金）管理暂行办法》缴纳社会保险（公积金）。

三、招聘条件

1．遵纪守法，品行端正，无违法犯罪记录，并具有正常履行岗位职责必备的身体条件和招聘岗位所规定的具体资格条件；积极上进，具有奉献精神，能够接受节假日上班。

2．报考条件：

具有生物专业研究生及以上学历、学位证书；流利的英语表达。

优先条件： 有海外学习经历，能中英文授课；有教师资格证，有教育经验; 2年以上相关工作经验。。

 备注：国（境）外学历学位证书需取得教育部留学服务中心的认证。

4．岗位要求：

（1）教师

职责：面向1-12年级学生教学细胞和分子生物学的基础知识和实验室课程； 制定教学方案包括教学课件和实验室试剂准备；开发课程，并进行故障诊断实验；与运营学习中心相关的多方面工作任务。

要求：要求生物专业，细胞或分子生物学专业优先；拥有分子生物学科研经验，熟练掌握分子生物学基本实验技术：细菌培养、无菌技术、细菌转化、DNA的纯化、剪切及连接、PCR，DNA序列分析，实验设计。

有教学经验者优先。流利的英语表达，能中英文授课者优先。有生物专业海外经历者优先。有网络维护、实验室管理、平面设计、文案写作经验者优先考虑。

有上进心和团队合作精神。

Scientist-Teachers Wanted

As global citizens we live in the “gene age”, an era of rapidly evolving scientific discovery that impacts our daily lives and personal decisions.  It is therefore imperative that the population have access to affordable education in the areas of molecular biology and genetics.  In an exciting collaboration between SIPAC (Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee) and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long Island, NY, The Cold Spring Harbor Asia DNA Learning Center of SIP, Suzhou is pioneering a transformation in the approach science education in Jiangsu Province, China. 

Our facility, located in BioBay of SIP, is the first hands-on teaching institution of its kind in China.  Our primary mission is to extend the molecular and genomic biology educational outreach program, developed at the Dolan DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long Island, NY to the community of SIP, Suzhou and China.  Our core teaching materials have been developed and tested by the Dolan DNA Learning center over the past 30 years with great success.  Their laboratory based lessons have been adopted into the US high school curriculum and have set international standards for discovery based education at the middle and high school levels.  Using discovery-based learning our long term goal for Chinese students is to promote critical thinking, improve problem solving and innovative skills to bridge the gap in scientific education between Chinese high schools and their counterparts in the rest of the world.

Our hands-on laboratory based lessons range from primary school students discovering cells as the basic units of life to high school students exploring their genomes through mitochondrial sequencing and PCR based genotyping. 

Our faculty is comprised of an international team of both teachers and professional scientists.  With this combined expertise we are able to provide an authentic research laboratory teaching environment as well as offer insights connecting our curriculum to both historic and current real world scientific discovery.

We are currently seeking motivated and creative scientist-teachers to join our team!

Required Duties:

·         Teaching of discovery-based laboratory lessons in Cell and Molecular Biology to students grades 1-12.

·         Lesson planning including preparation of teaching presentations and laboratory reagents.

·         Curriculum development and troubleshooting of experiments.

·         Miscellaneous tasks related to running of the DNA Learning Center.

·         Attention to detail and adherence to a standard of excellence.

·         Availability to work some weekend days as the teaching schedule requires.

Desired Qualifications:

·         Bachelor degree or higher in an area of Biological Science.  Cell or Molecular Biology preferred.

·         Laboratory experience or expertise in standard molecular biology technique: 

Bacterial Cell Culture and Sterile Technique

Basic Cloning Techniques:  bacterial transformation, DNA purification, DNA restriction, ligation and PCR.

          DNA Sequence Analysis

Experimental Design

·         Teaching Experience:  a broad range of teaching experience can be applied to our discovery-based educational approach.  Previous experience working with students as a teacher or teaching assistant is highly desirable.

·         Fluency in English language.  Bilingual Chinese and English preferred.

·         Overseas experience in Biology is preferred.

·         Experience in IT and basic web design is a plus.

·         Experience in graphics creation:  Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator is a plus.

·         Experience in written communication for publicity purposes is a plus.
