In 1912, five years after Mr. Wingqvist founded the company, the first Chinese SKF agent was established in Shanghai. In 1916, a sales company was set up in Shanghai and operated business until 1951.
In 1986, SKF restarted its business in China through its consignment center in Shanghai. In 1988, a sales company was established in Hong Kong, named SKF China LTD. In 1994, SKF Group started to set up factories in China.
