Cisco Component Quality and Technology Mechanical and Thermal Team manages supplier technology development, and quality for Cisco’s Mechanical and Thermal commodities. Greater than 80% of the supply chain is located in Asia. With the increased demand for advanced cooling solutions, additional resources are required for local support in Taiwan, where R&D and advanced manufacturing facilities for the majority of Cisco’s thermal suppliers are located.?Onsite support is required to support supplier technology/supply chain development, risk assessment, and DFM for critical new advanced cooling technologies such as Advanced Vapor Chamber, Thermo-Siphon, Board Level Liquid Cooling, System Level Liquid Cooling, and Optical Cooling.
Responsibilities:
- Component Engineer Intern, supporting thermal commodities in Taiwan. ?
- Partnering with Engineering, Global Supplier Management and Product ?teams on technology selection/sourcing activities. ?
- Facilitating thermal technology evaluation/development at Taiwan based ?supplier design centers. ?
- Providing technical support for selection and qualification of Thermal ?components, suppliers and manufacturing processes. ?
- Driving resolution/closure of technology gap assessments. ?
- Evaluating new technology continuous improvement and manufacturing ?technology development initiatives for thermal commodities in Taiwan, partnering with key supplier and Cisco stakeholders ?
Education Eligibility Criteria:
- Graduate student in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, with focus on Thermal Engineering ?
- Basic knowledge in Mfg of electronics products, enclosures and thermal Components. ?
- Familiarity with PCB/PCBA assembly and electronics Mfg technologies/processes is a plus. ?
- Basic knowledge in application/selection and manufacturing of Thermal technologies; such as fans, heat sinks and, thermal interface materials ?
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English ?
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
