Background:

The project is to run innovated process to identify cost opportunity, conduct business case and provide recommendation to commodity team. The cost reduction approaches would focus on but not limited by:

  • Product SPEC analysis for bundle negotiation and complexity reduction

  • New supplier development for legacy product

  • PWB PPSI template refresh and set up cost model

 

R&R for Intern:

  •  Information gathering

    • Work with GCM/Regional Buyer/suppliers to understand commodity nature

    • Research about suppliers to understand supplier power

  • Commodity analysis

    • Update D/S positions for certain commodity

    • Help to create cost models based on existing data

  • Information consolidation/sharing

    • Based on analysis to make recommendation on what levers to employ for cost negotiations

    • Provide input material for commodity sourcing related activities

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Advance data analysis skill to be able to identify opportunities from daily operation and historical data.

  • Basic engineering knowledge to understand product SPEC and conduct discussion with suppliers

  • Basic operation or supply chain knowledge to be able to understand operation process through manufacturing      and logistics.

  • Be familiar with Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis

  • Be creative in problem solving while be rigorous in implementation

  • Smart with business acumen

  • Fluent in both verbal and written and English.
