Stratasys 3D Manufacturing Center utilize 3d printing technology to produce models to support the sales and marketing organizations. With its primary location in Shanghai, 3D Manufacturing Center is responsible to produce 1000s of prototype parts in an annual basis.

Stratasys is seeking a manufacturing engineering intern to improve the production efficiencies - reducing scrap, implementing quality measurement/tracking, eliminating non-value added activities, and dramatically reducing production lead times.

A successful intern will have assisted in making considerable changes to the Production Center layout, process, tools, and organization, to achieve the desired goals.

What will be my responsibilities? (3-4 Projects from Below Chosen Based Upon Candidate’s Competencies):

§ Identify inefficiency root causes with current Production Center workflow (order to shipment)

§ Define solutions to maximize part quality, shorten lead times, reduce scrap, and improve internal / external proactive communication & visibility

§ Optimize Production center layout to streamline production workflow process

§ Establish inventory management tools (min / max quantities, FIFO processes, auto ordering)

§ Implement 5S production floor organization principles in Production Center

§ Establish objective definition / measurement of part quality (tied to prospect’s application needs)

§ Implement khan bans or other production process for daily job assignment & tracking

§ Implement work tracking and automated status updates in SalesForce database

§ Implement electronic posting of vital metrics for weekly and long-term key performance measures

§ Work closely with Production Center Infrastructure Intern to implement software & database tools

§ Engage with Stratasys divisions to leverage knowledge and tools implemented, specifically Stratasys Direct Manufacturing network and Stratasys systems/materials production teams

§ Work with current procurement procedures to efficiently purchase, receive and implement tools to enhance the Stratasys Production Center

Who are we looking for?

§ 3 years pursuit of degree in Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering discipline

§ Highly driven to investigate, define, and implement solutions that have an impact

§ Understanding of workflow optimization, ergonomics, 5S organization, khan bans

§ Experience working with production management tools is strongly desired

§ Experience in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or other 3D/2D design software

§ Good communication, inter-personal skills and language skills in Chinese & English

§ Creative, open minded, proactive, and ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
