Bell Labs China located in Shanghai is a leading lab working for creating world-leading communication technologies, particularly including the areas of next generation mobile system and technologies, ultra-high speed optical transmission, SDN/NFV, cloud computing and Internet of Things, industrial control and robotic technology. We have openings for inspired innovators in all above research areas.

Job Description

1.      Provide disruptive innovations in next generation telecommunication and networking technologies to accommodate the ever increasing exponential data growth, providing a competitive advantage to the company’s leadership.

2.      Carry out ambitious research work by investigating novel solutions with potential for break-through innovations.

3.      Create new technologies to invent the future, drive thought leadership and create unique intellectual property that would provide a strong basis for sustained future product differentiation and essential standards.

4.      Create and maintain strong collaborative relationships with researchers from academia, leading research bodies, Nokia business units, customers and government agencies.

Qualifications

1. Ph.D in communication, computer science, EE, automatic control, artificial intelligence or other related fields.

2. A proven record in research with of publications in prestigious journals and conferences.

3. Comprehensive understanding and solid knowledge in wireless/wireline communications, or SDN/NFV/Cloud Computing, or industrial control and robotic technology, artificial intelligence, etc. Experience in prototype building and system simulation is a plus. Experience in development activities is also highly valued.

4. Ability to conduct independent research while contributing to global projects that span across multiple Bell Labs sites.

5. Ability of capturing technological trends and defining technology plan, Solid ability of keen insight and decision-making.

6. Excellent spoken, written communications skills in English.

7. High responsibility, self-motived and team spirit.
