Position Summary
Responsible for applying engineering theories and principles, and performing complex work in the research projects, in areas related to complex system functional safety and security, including investigation, acquisition, integration and distribution of advanced technologies that support the long-term business strategies of Company.
Key Responsibilities
· Participate in establishing research methodology, project objectives and milestones for major technical initiatives.
· Report interim milestones and final results to team lead and related Business Unit (BU). Achieve the tasks/milestones allocated on schedule with a high level of quality.
· Build a good relationship with BUs, project sponsors, and other team members.
· Collaborate as a team player by appropriately involving in decisions and plans that are project related, and frankly share information and viewpoints with other team members.
· Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, security, quality and environmental regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.

?Have demonstrated full technical competency in functional areas. Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering/scientific techniques, processes, and criteria, using judgement in making adaptations and modifications.
Interpersonal
?Build and maintain professional networks across Rockwell Automation on a global basis. Takes accountability to anticipate communication needs of superiors, peers and other functional areas.
?Be significant team contributor to conduct planned projects using efficient and effective research/engineering knowledge.

?Be able to effectively manage individual or team projects to meet functional, time and cost objectives.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE
?A Master or PhD (preferred) with 0 ~ 3 years’ experience in engineering, e.g. automation, electrical, electronic, computer science, applied mathematics or a related discipline.
?Experience in industrial functional safety and/or cyber-security or related areas is required.
?Good computational, statistical and analytical skills, and programming skills (e.g. C/C ++, Java, Python).
?Experience in modelling software (e.g. Matlab/Simulink) and analysis techniques (e.g. FMEDA, HAZOP, FTA) is beneficial.
?General knowledge of communications, industrial automation, state-of-art embedded hardware, embedded software, system software and application software is an advantage.
?Knowledge of probability theory, coding theory, cryptography and optimization theory is an advantage.
?Strong hands-on and proof of concept capability, including architectural design, implementation, debugging, verification, summarizing and reporting.
?Passion for new technologies, new ideas and development of solutions to solve problems.
Oral, reading and writing English skills for daily work.
