The technician is a vital member of the department, and the teachers rely heavily on the technician to make the department run smoothly. The technician’s job is essentially to look after every aspect of practical science except for the actual teaching of lessons. 物理实验室助教（以下简称物理助教）是在教学中非常重要的一个角色，在物理助教的协助下课程和许多其他工作得以顺利实施及完成。物理助教的基本角色是不包括实际教学外的，协助任课老师完成所有实践科学的方方面面。

The technician should always ask questions if unsure, but equally must show initiative and be proactive to ensure things get done in a timely fashion. There are two main areas to the job: dealing with requisition and maintaining the department’s practical resources. 物理助教需要经常明确各种未确定事项，要有积极性和主动性来确保事情在规定时间内得以解决。工作内容主要涉及两个方面：一方面是处理各种请求，另一方面是维护、管理科目所需各种实验材料。具体如下：

1. Dealing with requisitions处理各种请求

Every Thursday, the teaching staff will give the technician their requisition forms for the following week. These will detail the practical apparatus required for each lesson. The duties of the technician in this area are:

每周四，科目老师会将下一周课程需求表发给你，这将会是每一节课非常具体的器具、设备要求。你需要接下来完成：

• On each Friday, to check that they understand what the requisitions for the following week mean and ask if not; and to check that all the apparatus and chemicals are available, organise the purchase of any that are not, and inform the teacher of any items that they will not be able to purchase in time. 每周五，与老师确认下周所需设备及器具的是否正确；确保所有所需设备、器具及化学材料可获得，如果库存不足则需要协助购买，如果不能及时备货需要通知科目老师寻找解决方案。
• To prepare apparatus for practical lessons, as specified on teachers’ requisition sheets, and deliver them to the correct lab before the start of the lesson 根据老师的清单要求，准备物理实验课所需的器具、材料，在课前摆放在指定的实验室内和固定的位置上。
• To set up apparatus for demonstrations if requested on the requisition. 摆放、整理、管理实验室展示台。
• To be available during lesson time to assist teachers at short notice. 协助任课老师进行相关教学。
• To return apparatus to storage after lessons. 课后将将实验器皿、设备放回实验仓库。

2. Maintaining the department’s practical resources 管理所有物理材料

The duties of the technician in this area are本职能工作内容主要包括:

• To keep the prep room and storage areas methodically organised and in good order 保持实验室及物理实验室仓库各区域物品分类归置整齐。
• To be proactive in purchasing consumables (e.g. if supplies are running low, the technician should order more in good time so that we don’t run out) 负责进行物理实验易耗品的购买（比如，及时采购所需材料，在恰当的时间补货，确保实验物料满足教学需要）。
• To build new apparatus, and to maintain existing apparatus. 管理并协助安装新仪器，维护保养已存仪器。
• To obey all relevant rules and regulations, and any departmental protocols, relating to health and safety, and to be proactive in keeping staff and pupils safe 遵守学校相关制度和规定，以及其他与健康和安全相关协议
• Any other tasks as requested by the teaching staff, for example trialling new experiments, photocopying etc.完成科目老师交办的其他工作，比如新仪器的测试，复印工作等。

1. Bachelor’s degree, Candidates with experience in physics, engineering or electronics are particularly encouraged to apply. 本科学历，物理、工程、电气相关专业。

2. Proficient in bilingualism (English and Chinese).熟练使用中英双语。

3. Proficient in usage of Microsoft Word and Excel.熟练使用Microsoft Word和Excel。

4. High level of integrity and openness.为人正直诚信。

5. Previous working experience in an international school preferred. 有国际学校工作经验优先。
