About Program Origin (源·计划):

Upon the successful completion of the extensive training sessions conducted by our industry-renowned mentors & trainers set for the first six months of this program, the graduates will be given the much-anticipated opportunities of participating in the very core AAA game development in Shanghai Studio.

Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the graphical content of one or several basic game levels and must ensure that his/her work can be successfully integrated, taking the technological limits and artistic direction into account, Artist should have a strong passion for their craft and creating realistic models, textures and environments. This role will work alongside and train with experienced artists to complete content for our high profile games.

Responsibilities:

·         Becomes familiar with game design documents so as to know the environments, objects, atmospheres, story, and style in order to build his/her own level(s)

·         Becomes familiar with the visual references and respect the chosen artistic direction

·         Participates in the search of precise graphic references that are specific to his/her game level(s)

·         Becomes familiar with tool installation methods and their settings, the project’s file nomenclature system, and the data updating processes in the engine, and follow all of the instructions of the technical director – graphics

·         Creates documents that list and present the graphical content of the levels (objects, environments, atmosphere, lighting, styles, etc.)

·         Helps estimate, after assessing level content with the PM – modeling, the working time and plan tasks per priority and per level

·         Builds the rough map of the level with the level designer to show and get approval for the first graphical intentions and gameplays

·         Help establish the modeling and texture needs, place the order with the map modelers and texture’s, and follow up on the progress and quality of the work with the PM-modeling;

·         Integrate the produced objects and textures into the level

·         Creates the architectural and lighting elements of the level and integrate them

·         Constantly optimizes his/her map and by, for example, adjusting the size of the pieces according to gameplay situations, after assessment with the level designer

·         Participates in setting the properties of each of the objects in his/her map (e.g.: movement, collision, lighting effects, SFX, sound, etc.)

·         Acts as a resource-person for the artistic team

·         Oversee the debug process for all levels

·         Backs up the files at a specific point in Perforce and export the information to the engine using the same nomenclature

·         Verifies the quality of the maps once they are imported into the game and make any necessary improvements

·         Remedies the bugs entered by the testers to eliminate any anomalies;

 

Requirements:

·         At least College or Bachelor’s degree

·         Good Understanding and passion for our games

·         Strong self-learning ability

·         Minimum of 1 to 3 year experience in modeling, texturing, lighting and imaging or any other relevant experience

·         Must Have: 3DMax, Z-Bruch, Substance, Photoshop, Maya, Speed tree, etc.

  • Basic game engine experience - Unreal4,Unity,etc.

·         Good communication skills in both Chinese and English (spoken and written);

·         Basic awareness of game engine budgets, limits, and memory constraints
