This individual is responsible for contributing to Apple's supplier social responsibility [SSR] program. The ideal candidate has experience in social responsibility auditing and monitoring, preferably in the technology sector. Preferably, the candidate will also possess expertise in auditing large industrial facilities and have a background in human resource management and/or environment, health and safety issues. A working knowledge of Chinese labor law is considered a plus.
This individual will have a strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Candidates should also be assertive and motivated by making improvement in social responsibility.
Typical responsibilities include:
Implements the supplier social responsibility audit and monitoring program in Asia with a strong focus on China. Working in close coordination with the SSR Global team and the global procurement organization, this individual will conduct social responsibility audits of key suppliers, work closely with 3rd party auditors, follow up on corrective actions and re-mediation with suppliers and train Apple personnel in social responsibility standards and practices. Assembles, maintains and presents data relevant to social responsibility performance of Apple suppliers based in Asia. Works seamlessly with senior managers at both Apple and Apple suppliers in Asia.
Requirements:
Fluency in both Chinese and English is required-both written and verbal
Strong auditing skills
Experience in social responsibility, labor standards or environment health and safety
Ability to work independently with little direction
Strong desire to work in social responsibility
Experience or knowledge of technology sector desired
Collegial, collaborative, dedicated team player
Normally requires BA/BS degree
