Responsibility:
To support worldwide ASIC & FPGA design community.
1. Develop design & verification methodologies.
2. Install and test a variety of industry standard EDA CAD tools that are used by the designers and provide first line technical support to the global end users. The successful candidate will have a chance to learn about ASIC/FPGA design while supporting the CAD tools used by current ASIC/FPGA designers.
Qualification:
1. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and a minimum of 2 years work experience in a silicon (ASIC/FPGA) design environment.
2. Working level ability to read/write/speak English, ability to work in an unsupervised environment
3. Working knowledge of Verilog or VHDL hardware description languages
4. Working knowledge of Solaris / Linux / Windows operating systems
5. Familiarity with UNIX shell scripting languages.
6. Experience with System Verilog is a big plus and any prior experience installing EDA CAD tools in a UNIX environment is an asset.

2. Testing Prime for a number of design simulation tools such as: Specctraquest, Hspice, Pspice, ADS, Ansoft HFSS & Designer.
3. Maintains and evolves web-based documentation for: Specctraquest, Hspice, Pspice, ADS, Ansoft HFSS & Designer Suite
4. Maintains the PDS catalogue as the tool prime for the above-named tools.
Qualification:
1. Some experience in electrical engineering, specifically logical circuit design, is desirable but not essential.
2. Skill in programming languages such as C, Perl or Lisp is desirable.
3. Be conversant in English, both spoken and written. The demonstrated ability to work unsupervised is required.
4. Proven experience in the installation of Engineering Design Automation (EDA) tools will be a definite asset. If there is no experience in EDA tools installation, these skills can be learned on the job provided the candidate has a strong background in UNIX, Windows, Linux operating systems, and the ability to script solutions in for example C Shell.

· Assists in implementing Valor Engineering Resource Files as directed by Back-End tools leader in Montreal Quebec Canada.

· Contributes to test plan evolution for the above-named tools.

Responsibility:
· Come join a global team of professionals dedicated to the success of the Nortel Networks Hardware Design effort. Work with colleagues and customers in Canada, the United States, Europe and China.
· Work Hardware design methodology issues with the supply chain, particularly contract designers in the Asian region, as well as any non-Asian contract design resources aligned with the Beijing Hardware design organization.
· Support and serve as a conduit to Asian designers for issues related to the legacy tool environment built around UniCAD.
· Assist the MCAD/ECAD tools installation/testing prime in Beijing, and serve as a backup to that position during absences. As such, the person filling this position will need to be able to install various EDA tools from Cadence, Parametric Technologies, Flomerics and Valor.

2. Install and/or compile and/or distribute software. This includes Unix and Windows. This varies from “unsupported” tools to the tools required by loadbuild
3. Support software developers in maintaining the software environment.
4. Install and manage vendor license keys on the specific global servers
Qualification:
