We expect this plant to grow substantially over the next 2-4 years and service both the domestic China and export diesel fuel injection markets. T arget products for production in this facility will be precision fuel system m achined components, diesel pumps and injectors, and fuel filters. Once operat ional, the Director of Operations will be responsible for managing and driving results for all areas of operations. This specifically includes implementati on of Lean Manufacturing processes, improving service to our customers, ensuri ng Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives are met, and providing a safe and des irable work environment. Essential Functions: 1. Implement 5 year strategic plan to launch and deliver planned sales from St anadyne’s new China manufacturing facility for several product lines (may inc lude diesel pumps and injectors, filters and precision machined components) 2. Establish a new WFOE enterprise in the selected location and ensure the new facility is ready on schedule and in accordance with specifications as well a s all local laws and regulations 3. Hire and lead Stanadyne China Operations team a. Value Stream Managers (supervising each area of productions) b. Material planning, supplier development and quality c. Implementation of Lean Manufacturing d. Manufacturing and Product Support engineering e. Finance and administration support f. Human resources 4. Lead the Plant’s complete supply-chain management to include planning, sou rcing, production, shipping/logistics, quality, and quantity objectives, with other plants as well as vendors and customers. 5. Develop a strategy for and drive process improvements. Leader and monitor plant performance through direct involvement, team development, coaching, esta blishment of goals and good countermeasure practices. Assure coordination of plant functions, responsibilities, budgetary performance, manpower utilization , skills, equipment, and facilities. 6. Motivate all plant employees, encouraging optimum productivity, develop, tr ain, assist, and advise supervisors and administer company policies and proced ures knowledgeably. Encourage open employee communications. 7. Plan and determine manpower requirements based on an understanding of goals and objectives. 8. Direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by elimina ting hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness. Continually upgrade, direct, comply with, and enforce Company safety programs and policie s. 9. Maintain building, grounds, equipment, and facilities to provide and sustai n a quality-working environment supportive of maximum efficiency, productivity , and return on investment. 10. Senior member of International staff and core team member of Stanadyne Chi na – together with Business Development Manager and PCA Project Manager 11. Inter-company liaison to key customer and supplier factories in Italy, US, and India. 12. Performance will be measured by annual results (shipments, on-time deliver y, quality measures, cost improvement metrics) and long term goals (starting u p the new facility on schedule and under budget, success in retention of key t eam members, implementation of lean manufacturing culture) Qualification Standards: 1. BS in Engineering preferred, MBA or similar desirable 2. 10+ years experience, preferably in precision machining and assembly of hig h-technology products for the diesel or automotive industry serving large OEM customers. Strong knowledge of basic metal manufacturing processes including machining, grinding, heat treatment, precision assembly and performance testi ng. 3. At least 5 years in a manufacturing management role, with demonstrated impr ovement in measurable quality, delivery and cost during this time. 4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods strongly preferred 5. Financial analysis skills (budget, P&L, margin and ROI analysis, etc…) 6. Strong interpersonal skills 7. Some travel required in China, and occasionally overseas (India, US, Europe ). 8. Candidate must be available to spend at least 3 months in the US and Europe during the first 6 months of employement for training and benchmarking other facilities.
