The department addresses a broad range of applications and technologies in the healthcare arena, for both professional healthcare markets (e.g. hospitals) as well as personal healthcare markets (healthcare devices for consumers). Our research is in such fields as chronic diseases, elderly care, molecular medicine.



Job Description Computer Scientist

Senior scientist Computer Science for Healthcare
Apply your detailed knowledge of Computer Science to research and develop new healthcare solutions covering both professional products for hospitals and home healthcare devices. The focus is on using advanced Computer Science techniques to create new healthcare solutions that directly benefit patients and doctors. Our aim is not just to apply information technology in the medical world but to use advanced Computer Science techniques to make intelligent systems that provide new functions not currently available. The candidate must be able to work in a multidisciplinary team (including medical doctors, biomedical engineers and electronic engineers) and take the lead in showing how Computer Science techniques can increase the value of the overall solution. Take a leading role in prototyping of complete solutions to demonstrate the value of the system to patients and doctors. Interface with colleagues from marketing to ensure that the solutions defined are aligned with market requirements.

Requirements
Excellent research experience in the field of Computer Science, as demonstrated by having obtained a PhD degree.
The PhD degree should be supported by publications in renowned international journals.
Experience in developing working prototypes.
Drive, entrepreneurial behaviour, result and quality driven.
Excellent communication skills. English language skills to at least CET level 6.
