Senior Statistical Analyst (Statistician 3) Location: Beijing

1. Job Responsibilities
This position will reside in the IMS China Beijing office. Provide expertise in analytic methodologies to assigned projects for IMS US Statistical Studies and provide ongoing analytic support for existing US Pharmaceutical Market Research Studies.
Under supervision, provides statistical methodology support in the delivery of standard and custom studies.
Applies statistical design and methodology to meet client information needs, conducts statistical analyses to derive conclusions from the study and assists in preparing written summaries of study results.
Assists other statisticians in preparing analysis plans and statistical reports and performs validation of statistical analysis.
Works on projects of moderate scope within defined procedures and practices.

2. Jobholder’s Requirements

Typically requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Economics, Computer Sciences or related quantitative science degree. Or a Bachelors Degree with 2+ years of relevant professional business experience in market research, or applied statistics.
Prior work experience or an internship that provided the opportunity to apply statistical methods is preferred.
Statistical knowledge includes understanding of multivariate statistics, sampling methods, regression and forecasting.
Applied experience with SAS, SPSS or a structured programming language is required.
Proficient in oral and written English: English Test Scores passing CET-6.
Must be proficient in MS Office.


Statistical Programmer Location: Beijing

1. Job Responsibilities
This position will reside in the IMS China Beijing office. Provide statistical programming
support on market research projects and applications development.
Under minimal guidance, creates and executes SAS programs for market research studies of moderate to high complexity.
Provides programming and analytical support on assigned research projects and custom studies.
Develops SAS programs to explore/analyze data characteristics, and comparing and validating statistical projection methodologies.
Requires innovative thinking on conceptual products and services, state-of-the-art statistical programming knowledge, and independent personal development in new technology. Develops and carries out test plans.
Develops complex, but efficient, SAS code combining data across time, and demonstrates a familiarity with and capability of programming statistical techniques.
Supports ongoing research tasks, client proposals, ad-hoc client requests, and complex data investigations.

2. Jobholder’s Requirements

Requires a Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Life Sciences, or related field(s) and two to five years experience with large databases and systems.
 Experience programming in SAS (Base, STAT, Macro, SQL, ODS, etc.) on MVS and/or UNIX, NT and PC is required, SyncSort, internet programming and expertise with PC applications, particularly Excel or VB is a plus.
Familiarity with implementation of statistical design and methodology is preferred. .
 Proficient in oral and written English.
Manage multiple projects and deadlines, detail orientend with a high regard for quality control and testing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
