Job Title : Senior Acoustics Engineer Department/Unit: Development Location : Shenzhen
1.Main purpose of the role Independently develop the acoustical aspects of complete products for PSS APAC, intended for mass production at OEM suppliers, ranging from a loudspeaker driver to a complete sound solution.

3.Reporting and other significant organisational relationships (The answers to this question are meant to deepen our insight into the reporting and other relationships affecting the job). a.Internal: LoB & account mgrs: Provides input on the AV/MM or Automotive business; Purchasing department: Supplier price/selection and know how; Project management: Reporting to project mgr on a particular project during execution; Quality department: Quality standards, production problems; Industrial engineering department: Production process and problems; Project team customer. b.External: ODM & OEM Subcontractors: project execution, factories producing the designs developed by PSS; Customer contacts: project execution, Report acoustical technical issues related to customers projects; Suppliers: project execution, discuss production feasibility of newly designed parts.
4.Key areas of accountability a.Design and development of the acoustical aspects of loudspeaker drivers and boxes, according to customer specifications, within the timeframe and product costs of the project; b.Design products taking into account: Design for manufacturing; Design for assembly; Design according to companies design rules; Design fulfilling the required quality and reliability standards; c.Working according to the company’s PCP (Product Creation Process): As member of the project teams, report project development results and outputs to the project manager; Controlling and organising the construction of development samples according to the project plan; d.Interfacing to other teams: Interacting with the acoustical & electrical development engineers when designing the mechanical aspects of drivers and boxes; Interfacing to external suppliers on technical issues to create a pro-active involvement of the suppliers; Inter facing to customers to discuss technical issues related to projects for these customers; e.Documentation Responsible for the in time delivery of the required documentation of mechanics during the development; Controlling, organising and documenting the development samples during the development process; Responsible for the release of SER & drawings of the mechanical team; Responsible for checking of partlists and spec sheets created by mechanical engineers; f.Workload Responsible for the translation of the project deliverables into his/hers daily workload. g.Support to business department: Within a team define acoustical information needed for customer quotations in order to achieve new business; Within a team create new product concepts and initial product specifications.
