Vacancy: Assembly Integrity Engineer

Main Responsibilities:

1.In charge of the assembly integrity of product designs during early development phase, sampling phase as well as pilot phase, this based upon commercial customer and MDS internal requirements. He is responsible for product improvements to optimize assembly integrity not affecting product functionality.

2.Responsible for the implementation and release of assembly processes wrt critical items for (automated) mass production involving factory engineers (product & process engineers). This including the reporting of yields and improvements of processes and tooling (critical requirements).

3.Defines strategic input for development of standards for part design and (MSC) manufacturing standard creation for assembly processing of LCD modules.

4.Liaise with suppliers of materials and equipment so that requirements on functionality and quality are properly identified and specified for optimized assembly processes.

5.Introduce new and improved ways of parts processing within operations assembly lines to achieve higher quality, lower costs and reduced time-to-market. Find ways and identify areas for IPR generation.

6.Assisting the Group Leader and/or Development managers to define strategic directions and long term scope of assembly integrity related to module development and operational requirements.

7.Provide technical coaching of junior or new members within the group or MDE’s within the global PCE

8.Maintains his own expertise and technical capabilities of group, both in quantitative and qualitative aspects.  

9.Works very closely within the project teams (MDE, EE, QE, PM) during design stage of the LCD modules.

10.Works closely with (PE) process engineers from operations to ensure the  optimal functionality of critical assembly processes and related tooling as well as to generate manufacturing standards.

11. Plays a steering role in ASC (Assembly Steering Committee) capability cluster and road mapping activities.
