Graphic Design Assistant Reports to: Graphic Design ManagerJob Description
1.Helps execute compelling graphic design layout for documentary style book about architecture.
2.Assists with conversion and copy fitting of text. Revises design as necessary to ensure highest standards of accuracy, readability, and visual appeal.
3.Helps oversee pre
-press operations, checks color, and coordinates proofing process.
4.Helps ensure that printing, assembly, and delivery of publication meets the highest standards of quality, design sensibility, timeliness, and economy.
5.Assists with conversion and/or adaptation of text to the web if necessary.
6.Produces diagrams and illustrations for publication.
7.Scans artwork.
8.Assists in reviewing and tracking vendor invoices; corresponds as necessary with vendor and printer.
9.Other duties as assigned.Position Specifications:
1.Bachelors Degree
2.Attention to detail in typesetting, printing, illustration, ink, paper, and print quality.
3.Expertise in QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
4.Requires an organized individual who is able to work efficiently under deadline pressure.
5.Ability to coordinate a graphics or photographic library and maintain digital records.
6.Willingness to work cooperatively and accept constructive criticism.
