Then this team is for youThe Windows Server Solutions Group has an opening in its Midmarket Product Unit for an SDE/T Lead who will be responsible for building a team of SDE/Ts that will own scenario testing for this new product. The product provides a complete IT infrastructure solution that targets the specific needs of medium size businesses (businesses with 50
-250 PCs). Our guiding principles for the solution are that it’s practical for the IT generalist to deploy&manage; it provides immediate value for the customer’s IT staff&end
-user;&it helps our customers leverage the great features of key technologies that are important to their businesses. Like Windows Small Business Server, the Midmarket Server is a complete product&solution that integrates key technologies across the company, delivers them in a way that meets the specific customer needs,&adds compelling features&scenarios for this segmentResponsibilities:In our team, accountability for the quality of the product&responsibility for test activities is shared equally between the feature development&test functions. One way in which we’re driving engineering excellence in test/quality is by assigning responsibility for unit&feature test development&execution to our feature development team. This person will be responsible for providing leadership in achieving overall test excellence for the product (shared by the dev team, test team, partners,&potential outsource teams)&our new development methodologies as well as being responsible for building&leading a team of developers (SDE/T) who, working closely with the feature dev team, will develop&execute the product’s end

-end scenario tests. The set of responsibilities described in the previous sentence are big&challenging. Since end

-end scenarios for our product span multiple machines&touch several of our biggest enterprise server applications&workloads, this truly is a big challengeTo summarize the responsibilities, this person will:
· Provide leadership in test excellence (across all areas of test) to the product unit, working closely with the feature dev team&others in planning their test activities, ensuring we achieve the level of test we need to ship an exceptional product
· Help us continue innovation of our product development model/methodologies to further emphasize quality ownership&test excellence.
· Recruit&lead a team of SDE/Ts to build&execute end
-to
-end scenario tests for the productQualifications:We are looking for an ambitious, high
-energy person who is passionate about quality/test&is eager to tackle these big challenges. The c&idate should have:
· Experience testing&shipping server products/components at Microsoft
· Deep knowledge of typical quality metrics/criteria/gates, tools (e.g., WTT, Scenario Builder, etc),&best practices
· Demonstrated strong leadership abilities in the test function&successful partnering with feature development&PM teams; successful recruiting / team growth a plus
· Experience testing both native (C/C++)&managed code (C#), UI&services
· Demonstrated success planning test development&execution including design, task breakdown, dependency planning, risk management, scheduling, etc.
