Dell reliability engineer generates system reliability testing items and test requirements for Dell ODM products. Analyze test result and fix any reliability issues accordingly.
This successful candidate will need to work closely with various Dell development and vendor teams. The position requires a combination of in depth technical skills related to computer design, testing, reliability / statistical knowledge, communication and ODM management skills.
Roles & Responsibilities
·Develop reliability testing plan for new product development and shipping product (sustaining)
·Manage ODM and lab for reliability testing
·Driving reliability issues fixing seen during product development and sustaining stage
·Provide reliability consultant to other engineering teams
·Generate reliability test procedures and requirements
·Provide risk assessment and product life forecast on Dell systems
Qualifications
Requirements
·Be familiar with computer system, understand PC mother board working theory and failure mechanism.
·For major commodity parts, he / she should understand the critical testing, be able to isolate failure for any issues.
· He / she is requested to have reliability knowledge, statistical knowledge, he / she should be able to use reliability and statistical method to do data analysis, provide product risk assessment and life forecast.
·He / she needs to have electrical / mechanical testing experience.
·He / she should have soft skill like: good communication with different function groups and world wide teams; Fluent oral / written English; good interface / co-work capability; Willing to take challenges; initiative working style…
