Internet Portal DataCenter System Tuning Engineer Internship

Team: ESSD/ASE China CRT Team

Posting Title: IPDC System Tuning Engineer Internship

Location: PRC, Beijing, Kerry Center Lab

Responsibilities:

In this position, your major responsibility is supporting the China CRT team to construct, configure and tune the IPDC (Internet Portal Data Center) servers in system-level. You will learn how to best-tune the back-end server applications in the IPDC to gain performance, scalability and stability. You will be working on 1) server installation, configuration and management. 2) Benchmark, evaluation and analysis customer’s application in Intel’s platform. 3) Prototype development in order to root cause the performance issue or for concept approving. Meanwhile, you may do certain work on application tuning besides the system administration and tuning work. You may also have opportunities to re-construct, optimize and porting customer’s application in Intel’s platform to consolidate Intel’s leadership in performance and performance-per-watt in IPDC domain.

Qualifications:

- Familiar with Linux and Windows system configuration, administration. Can use at least one script language in Linux.

- Fast learning and strong problem diagnosing and solving skill, capable to diagnose the software or hardware issue of large and complicated system independently

- Rich experience in Linux system level programming, such as threading, large scale I/O processing etc. Similar knowledge in Windows will be a plus.

- Rich experience in C/C+＋and scripting programming under Linux (perl, python or ruby)

- Knowledge of computer architecture, micro-architecture of Intel processors and Intel software tools will be a plus.

- Initiative, Self-motivation, good team work, strong communication skill sets including fluency in both English and Chinese are required

工作职责：

负责服务器的安装配置管理维护，为应用软件工程师的调优工作提供稳定可靠的软硬件工作环境。在工作中，你将会学到如何最优化服务器应用程序在特定软硬件系统上的性能表现。具体的工作包括 1) 服务器安装调试和管理 2) 测试，评估和分析用户应用程序在Intel平台上的性能表现 3) 开发简单的原型系统用于定位性能瓶颈或者进行概念验证。 除此之外，可能还需要进行应用程序级的分析和优化。 你还有机会参与对用户应用程序的重构，改进，优化和移植。



能力要求：

- 熟悉Linux系统配置和管理，熟练使用至少一种脚本语言，另外具有相应Windows经验的优先

- 具备快速学习，较强的分析问题解决问题的能力，可以独立诊断大规模和复杂系统中的软硬件问题

- 具有Linux系统程序设计的丰富经验，对多线程，高并发度，高性能网络程序设计有丰富经验，另外具有Windows系统程序经验的优先。

- 熟练掌握C/C++程序设计以及在Linux上的脚本开发(perl, ruby, python)

- 具有计算机体系结构，Intel处理器微体系架构和Intel软件开发工具经验的优先

- 积极主动，自我激励，团队合作，良好的沟通良好的英语阅读和书写能力
