Position Summary:

Software Test Engineer provides functional testing for an enterprise-level software application. It is a long-term software outsourcing project since 2005, directed by our client based in London and San Francisco. Agile development / testing is adopted for this project, so a new software build is available for testing on a daily basis. You will be working in a dynamic technical team.

We are looking for:

- 1 senior tester with 3-5 years of experience in software testing
- Several junior testers with strong passion and basic knowledge of testing

Responsibilities:

A typical day-to-day testing to be performed by a tester includes:

- Performing smoke testing to verify basic functions and find severe regression bugs

- Creating and updating test cases and test data for the assigned functional / non-functional areas to achieve a high testing coverage gradually

- Verifying bug fixing / integrations made to the latest build

- Carrying out ad-hoc / exploratory testing

- Work items assigned based on customer’s requirements

Other responsibilities include test environment creation, performance testing, creating test scripts used for automated testing, etc.

Requirements:

To apply for junior position, you do not have to be experienced in testing, but should have strong passion on software testing and should be a quick-learner who is able to accommodate to our fast-paced working environment. As all the project documents, email, and bugs reported by you will be in English, so proficiency in reading and written English is a must, as well as excellent communication skills. The basic requirements include:

- Holding a bachelor degree
- Proved to be a quick-learner
- Excellent communication skills
- Passed CET 6, or have the same level in reading and written English
- Technical-minded, good passion on testing
- Good command of Windows and networking

Senior tester should have strong passion to technology and senior-level experience in software testing; willing to accept challenges. The following qualifications are necessary:

- 3-5 years of experience in software testing

- Good understanding of testing processes and established testing approaches; practical experience in integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing

- Strong test case design capability

- Strong ownership and commitment to quality

- Broad knowledge of Windows, networking, database, and OO programming concept; good trouble-shooting skills

- Good command of testing tools, such as VMWare, Test Director, QTP, etc.
