Responsibilities
1. Acquire knowledge of Oracle products and technology stack
2. Develop innovative products based Oracle products and technologies, such as Oracle Database, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Collaboration Suite, Oracle Applications etc.

4. Build and optimize Oracle based applications and products with high performance and scalability

Requirements
1. At least 1 year of Java related technologies(Java SwingAWT, J2EE, JSP, Servlet). Client-side Java technologies Java SwingAWT is a strong plus

3. Desired with the globalization(MLS) and Quality Assurance (automatic testing tools) experience of software products
4. C++ programming experience is a plus

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Enjoy debugging code and solving problems? Oracles Linux Sustaining team is looking for engineers who are interested in debugging and patching the Linux operating system. With Linuxs surge in popularity, our team is dedicated to ensuring enterprise quality performance from Linux and providing quick response to pressing Linux issues. Much of our work is customer-driven, though it does not often involve direct interaction with customers. The main focus of our development revolves around the Linux kernel and the standard C libraries. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are essential to break down the complex issues we see involving OS and process interaction. In addition, sustaining group engineers are encouraged to work on and contribute to open source development projects.


Requirements:
1. Advanced/expert fluency with C
2. Experience working with UNIX kernels, or demonstrably similar large software projects
3. Operational knowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions is expected (e.g. RHEL4, SLES9, CentOS?)
4. Knowledge of bash, perl, and/or python are a bonus.
5. Oracle knowledge is not required
6. Desire to work with a team in a fast-paced environment
7. Duties and tasks are varied and complex requiring independent judgment.

ID189014: Application Engineer - Siebel Apps Unlimited Development(3/4)

OBJECTIVE:
The position is based in Beijing, China. The candidate for this position will be responsible for ensuring the products meet the customer requirements, of the highest quality and are built within budget. The main focus of this position is to design, develop, unit test and maintain the Siebel CRM Self-Service application.

Current openings provide a great opportunity to work on one of the first Oracle applications built on top of the Fusion technologies such as ADF 10.1.3 and 11g. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about learning new technologies and staying ahead of the curve.

Candidates should be highly self-motivated; have a very strong educational background in Computer Science/Engineering; and have a proven record of designing and developing products successfully. The ideal candidate will have a very strong background in object-oriented software engineering, including experience with Java, J2EE, JavaScript, Swing, XSLT, Struts, Web Services, database, and web-based application development.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review MRD from PM
2. Create and review design doc for new features
3. Implement features according to approved design
4. Build and execute unit tests plans
5. Analyze and fix defects
6. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA.
7. Work with other groups in Engineering and QA to ensure that overall product feature, reliability issues and functional defects are addressed quickly in the required timeframe.
8. Use ClearCase as source control management system
9. Set up and configure Siebel and third party components
10. Exhibit professionalism in attitude, working relationships with colleagues, flexibility and overall work ethic


QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
2. 2+ year product development using J2EE, Java script, Swing, XSLT, Struts, and Web Services
3. Familiarity with J2EE applications
4. Familiarity with Windows and Unix platforms (Solaris / AIX / Linux)
5. Exposure to application severs such as Weblogic and IIS
6. Familiarity with Oracle and MSSQL databases
7. Good knowledge of SQL, SP, Triggers, views
8. Exposure in DB tracing tools in Oracle / MS SQL server
9. Experience with source control software (Clearcase is preferred)
10. Ability to maintain/modify build scripts using ANT and Opus Make
11. Knowledge of mail servers such as MS Exchange, third party servers
12. Exposure to Java code quality tools such as JUnit, Clover, and CheckStyle
13. Exposure to Java profiling tools such as JMeter, JProfiler, AppPerfect
14. Must have strong analytical skills
15. Must be a team player
16. Must possess good written / verbal communication skills
17. Must be able to work with minimal supervision
