Job Profile:
This position has responsibility for the coordination of the TRW Conekt consulting projects team within the Conekt Shanghai Office (CSO) and reports to the CSO Group Leader (UK). The post-holder is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the CSO team and for contributing to projects in a technical and/or project management capacity. The post-holder will also act as the interface between CSO and local external organisations including TRW Automotive, Customer organisations and academic institutions. He/she will be required to work under the supervision of the CSO Group Leader (UK) to ensure the realisation of CSO’s strategic goals.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Day-to-day administration of CSO, including cost control, resource allocation, monitoring of performance, etc.
· Preparation of weekly and monthly reports for the CSO Group Leader (UK)
· Support with business development and proposal generation
· Technical and Project Management contributions to projects
· Ensuring adherence to local and Conekt quality assurance and Health & Safety procedures
· Development of relationships with key stakeholders within the TRW Automotive Shanghai Technical Centre
· Management of relationships with local TRW and non-TRW customers and other external organizations such as Technical Universities, Government bodies and trade associations
· Provision of support to the CSO Group Leader (UK) with respect to strategic planning and budgeting
Key Skills/Personal Characteristics: -
· A postgraduate engineering degree (PhD/MSc) in Systems Engineering or a related discipline (e.g. electronics, software, control or automotive).
· Experience of the design and development of complex electronic products and systems
· Awareness of project management tools & techniques and their application
· ~10 yrs+ of post-qualification experience in either an industrial or academic environment
· Track record of project delivery in either the automotive or aerospace sectors
· Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
· English language competence evidenced by a CET6 qualification or equivalent
· Previous experience of leading a small team of specialist engineers
ADAG: Algorithm Development & Application Group
Product Engineer – ADAG
(Entry Level: Engineer Trainee) that will be responsible for performing control system and algorithm design, development and applications.
To design and develop Vehicle Crash Severity Sensing and Vehicle Side Impact Sensing algorithms, by using Matlab, Simulink, StateFlow, Control Toolbox, Neural Network Toolbox, Fuzzy Logic Toolbox, Optimization Toolbox, and Signal Processing Toolbox.
To perform algorithm applications:
(1) by simulating algorithms and generating algorithm calibrations for specific vehicle platform using TRW in-house developed CSIM (version for Vehicle Crash Severity Sensing and Vehicle Side Impact Sensing) simulation/calibration software with customer (vehicle manufacturer) provided crash data set;
(2) by performing analysis, Hardware-in-the-Loop verification and validation using Matlab, Simulink, StateFlow and dSpace based Auto Tester, and/or other necessary software and equipment.
(3) by presenting, discussing and negotiating with customers (vehicle manufacturers) directly the sensing performance of the algorithms and calibrations, and obtain their authorization to release/implement the algorithms and calibrations into vehicle platform for production.
Applicants must have a Master degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; must have taken at least one undergraduate and/or graduate class each in Systems, Dynamics and Controls; must be able to travel to customer locations in U.S. or Overseas. Additional experience may be required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Overall Purpose of Job:
This should be a broad overview of the position. Include overall scope of position and a description of authority the position has for programs/projects/operations and establishing policies.

Major Responsibilities:
The product engineer is responsible customer application and manufacturing support of EPS steering system, focus on mechanical sub-system. Work effectively with other department/group in managing programs from design proposal through drawing creation/drawing change, prototype build, to production validation and supplier localization. The Main responsibility includes:
Communicate with customer to understand customer requirements, effectively present to customer TRW capabilities and solutions.
Propose overall design configurations based on TRW capabilities and standards.
Communicate with TRW core engineering centres to facilitate detailed design and drawing creation.
Initiate and coordinate prototype requisition and responsible for on-time delivery to customers.
Conduct design reviews to ensure product design meeting customer requirement and TRW standards.
Develop test plans and coordinate tests following TRW GDPIM in product development.
Initiate and manage engineering/drawing changes to meet customer needs, improve product design, or reduce cost.
Support SDE in supplier development and localization for new and existing products.
Perform any necessary customer support activities.
Key Competencies:
Critical skills, abilities and characteristics necessary to perform job responsibilities.
Experience in precision transmission organ (gear / worm and worm gear) design and frame parts design.
In depth knowledge and understanding in structural analysis, vibration and noise control, fatigue limit analysis.
Strong ability of mechanical system failure analysis, trouble shooting and problem solving.
Excellent proficiency in reading and creating mechanical drawings.
Good understanding/utilization of geometric tolerances in drawing.
Knowledge of mechanical-electrical integration is a plus.
Knowledge of program management and quality system in Automotive industry is a plus.
Pro-active, able to work independently or in a team.
