Job description:

As a Technical Software Development Manager you will be responsible for lead
ing

the team at a detailed technical level on the design, implementation, and

maintenance of our high performance, mission critical stock trading software
.

You will report to, and work closely with, the Director of Software Developm
ent

in Toronto, as well as other software development teams across the globe.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Beijing team of software developers and testers, who are


part of the global Swifttrade software development for our ‘best in class’


trading software suite

• Support the QA, release, and production support teams for fast-pa
ced

implementation and upgrade cycles

• Adopt and integrate new requirements and technologies as needed

Qualifications:

• M.S. with 5 years of experience, or B.S with 3 years of experienc
e

in Windows software development and design, AND/OR

• M.S. with 5 years of experience, or B.S with 3 years of experienc
e

in Solaris server software development and design

• Minimum 3 years experience in a senior development role

• Minimum 2 years experience in a management role

• Experience with UML

• Extensive C++/MFC experience required; .NET or Java client softwa
re

development experience is an important bonus, OR

• Extensive C++ server development experience; J2EE experience is a
n

important bonus

• Strong knowledge of networking and inter-process communication (f
or

example: sockets, uni-cast, multi-cast, CORBA, RPC)

• SQL, ODBC, and JDBC experience helpful

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Preference will be given to candidates who have experience workin
g

with remote teams in English-speaking countries.
