Responsibilities and Details

Description

Job Description: Software Engineers conduct or participate in multidisciplinary
research and collaborate with design, layout and/or hardware engineers in the de
sign, development, and utilization of productivity enhancement layout tools and
design rule checkers, electronic data processing systems software. Determines co
mputer user needs, advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that af
fect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input and/
or output requirements, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility p
rograms, and operating systems. Responds to customer and/or client requests or e
vents as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education,
judgment and formal software process.


Qualifications
You should possess a Master or a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science
and familiarity with C and/or C++ and common script languages. You must have mor
e than one year of experience in software engineering and/or QA on Linux* (Linux
* kernel experience is preferred). Additional qualifications include:
- Familiarity with software QA process
- Good English communication skills
- Knowledge and experience in Telecom and/or Enterprise OS, and Intel? architect
ure hardware (x86/Intel XScale?/Intel? Itanium? architecture) would be an added
advantage
