The Solaris quality engineering group is looking for an experienced Solaris test development engineer. In this position, you will be responsible for but not limited to Solaris Install related test development. You should be in charge of the creation of test plans, test assertions, and test suites. And you need to work closely with teams located in other time zones around the world.




Job Description
---------------
Responsibilities:

- Solaris install test development during the project development life cycle.
- Developing test plans and test assertions to ensure the quality of the Solaris Install.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Solaris product test suites using C and scripting languages.
- Analyzing and debugging kernel and application level anomalies and interactions.
- Writing technical documentation, including specifications, theory of operation, test methodology, and coverage.
- Communicating interactively and effectively with English-speaking team members in different time zones.

Requirements:

- BSCS/EE
- Knowledge of software testing methodology, test plan and test assertion development.
- Proficient in Unix (Solaris preferred) operating system configuration and performance optimization.
- Development experience with Unix.
- Demonstrated excellence in C design and coding.
- Broad knowledge of Unix tools and common scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Unix kernel concepts and TCP/IP networking.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Fluent in English communication.

Job Description

(1)Essential Functions :
-Deliver Product/Test/FA/RCCA Statement of Work (SOW) to EM/JDM/ODM suppliers
-Ensure supplier compliances and adherences to Suns quality contracts
-Lead regional auditing activities of current and potential suppliers in the Asia region
-Process lead within the Operations Product team
-Develop/Drive closure of supplier process capability gaps
-Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) delivery through a leverage model
-Work closely with Sun/partner Development Engineering Team and partner NPI Ops team to ensure Design For Manufacturability and Testability are designed into the product during the New Product Introduction phase
-Identification of trends, Analysis and assessment of impacts
-First Article Inspection process management
-Develop benchmarking criteria and drive global benchmarking in pursuit of world class supply chain

(2) Preferred Knowledge:
-Knowledge of Unix and Linux a plus
-Thorough understanding of desktop computer hardware/architecture
-Leadership and influencing skills
-Exposure to manufacturing and test processes for desktop computer and/or server production a plus
-Root cause analysis, & FMEA knowledge a plus
-Presentation skills
-Strong project management and organizational skills
-Must be willing to travel throughout Asia and support remote activities as required

(3)Qualifications :
-Must have excellent English communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal), Minimum CET. 6 level.
