Position: Software Engineer
Location: PPDC (上海研发中心)
Job Description: An exciting software engineer position in a global PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) company. You will be working in the Freeform Modeling group of NX, the flagship CAD software of Siemens PLM software. Responsibilities include:
- Create new NX functionalities
- Maintain and improve existing NX functionalities
- Communicate with team members in different parts of the world to resolve software development issues
- Communicate with Product Definition team members in different parts of the world to determine functional designs of the software
- Understand user workflows and expectations
- Perform code review for team members
- Literature research about latest developments in CAGD

Minimum Requirement:
- Master’s Degree or higher with a specialization in CAGD (Computer Aided Geometric Design), in particular, in Freeform Modeling topics such as NURBS Curves and Surfaces, Mesh Generation, and Reverse Engineering
- Affluent in C/C++ programming and Object-Oriented program design
- Good English reading/writing ability
- Good communication skills

Position: Application Engineer
Location: PPDC (上海研发中心)
Job description:
Responsible for monitoring quality of the NX Shape Studio product after integration of projects and bug fixes, based on the execution of automatic and interactive tests. Utilize industry and work experience to ensure Shape Studio product satisfies customer’s need.
Detail duties include:
- Perform both interactive and automated tests in NX software to identifying failures.
- Create test plan based on approved Functional Specification document.
- Perform interactive test based on approved test plan to identify gaps between implementation and design.
- Report issues found in a timely fashion by logging PR. Recommend priority of the issues using industry knowledge.
- Create additional automated tests once the implementation is completed.
- Perform regression tests to ensure no new issues are introduced as a result of code change.
- Interact with customers as necessary to understand how NX is used and use this knowledge in product testing.
Prerequisites / Requirements
- Masters Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or Software Engineering
- Proficiency in surface creation using CAD software
- Basic understanding of mathematical concept of Bezier and NURBS
- Understanding of the Reverse Engineering process
- Must be detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
- Familiarity with NX Shape Studio or Imageware is preferred
- Additional software testing and programming experience is a plus
- Good written and verbal English skills

Freeform Modeling group
The teams primary responsibility is to provide freeform modeling and analysis tools within the NX product family. Our main customers are in the automobile styling, aerospace and consumer product industries.
Our main product is Shape Studio and Imageware products offered as part of the NX family.
Shape Studio provides the most comprehensive suite of curve and surfacing functionalities to allow the creation of complex freeform parts. This bundle also includes additional surface diagnostics and the visualization technology that enables dynamic materials and textures and raster image support. It includes drafting, user-defined features and industry standard data exchange capabilities. Shape Studio also enables the Assembly modeling capabilities.
Imageware provides modular, application-driven solutions in the areas of freeform product design, rapid surfacing, reverse engineering, computer aided verification, polygonal modeling and rapid prototyping. These products enable customer to design, accurately build, and fully inspect high-quality freeform products in less time.
