Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities: Analysis and specification of system level requirements for LTE-TDD-specific features and feature improvements in the Control Plane of the Radio Network Layer of the LTE-TDD Radio Access Network.
This includes analysis of Control plane protocols of LTE radio access network at terrestrial interfaces (S1, X2) and radio interface to specify additions for LTE-TDD-specific features while preserving the harmonization with LTE-FDD procedures & protocols. Further, tight co-operation with other specification teams in different locations for specification of functional dependencies. As result the formal specification of system features as well as the definition of requirements on system level and partly on network element level for the development and implementation process.
