Job Description:
Morningstar is adding to its team of Equity Analysts. Our analysts typically specialize in an industry, writing research reports and determining fair values on a select group of stocks. We are looking for outstanding business analysts who can think creatively about what separates great businesses from the mediocre majority. Knowledge of financial statements is essential. We expect our Equity Analysts to be able to identify the key drivers that make any given company tick. The ability to insightfully analyze revenue models and cost structures is, therefore, critical. If you’re passionate about investing and you have excellent written and oral communication skills, let’s talk. This position is based in our Shenzhen, China office.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required. We’re looking for candidates with a master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from an English-speaking country. Strong written and spoken English is a must. Prior equity research experience or significant industry experience is helpful. A CFA designation or MBA is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker whose curiosity is punctuated by skepticism. Applicants should be passionate about investing, skilled in accounting, and able and willing to take initiative. Excellent writing and verbal skills are necessary, as is a keen eye for detail. The Application Developer will collaborate with Ibbotson's product team, interface designers, and development team in defining, designing, and implementing backend components and front-end applications. You will develop a highly usable, intuitive user experience with the latest technologies. In addition, you will produce high-quality, efficient, and maintainable artifacts. You will also research, analyze, and learn new emerging presentation technologies. The Application Developer will collaborate with project management to provide estimates and to define milestones, all while adhering to project schedules.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or other science and engineering field is required; a graduate degree is preferred. The candidate must have good understanding of Object Oriented concepts and a strong motivation to succeed in the programming area. Candidates must have three or more years of C# experience and experience with , XML, and SQL.
Knowledge of United States financial industry is a strong plus. You may also be working on projects using C , Java, and many other technologies.
