The SSgA - Interactive team is responsible for providing global: Internet services to the public Secure Internet services to SSgA’s clients and interested parties (institutional investors and investor services) Intranet services to SSgA Client reporting applications to SSgA client service teams Content management infrastructure to SSgA, required to manage and maintain Internet, client reporting and Intranet services The State Street Hangzhou office supports the SSgA Interactive team with Development, Quality Assurance, Production Support and Business System Analysis services. Position Description The UI developer position is in SSgA Interactive, an SSgA department, whose mission is to help SSgA excel in marketing, client service and internal communications through a well designed and executed information management strategy, tool suite and support. This candidate will work closely with User Interface Design team and Development team to develop, debug and update prototypes with XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash/Flex. This candidate will be a lead for the Flash technology platform(s), working to create new architectures and websites, update existing websites, create Flash-related standards, as well as provide technical leadership, feedback, and oversight for technical initiatives. This candidate should excel in all components of the Flash development skill set, as well as the Web Development skill set including: HTML, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, site maintenance and troubleshooting. Candidate should have experience driving technology-wide Flash architectures and platform decisions and processes and provide technical architecture trend, communicate technical decisions and processes. Job RESPONSIBILITIES Major Responsibilities 1. Develop optimized/cross-platform code in CSS/XHTML, JavaScript, and Flash(Flex); 2. Develop functional prototypes from wireframes and mockups; 3. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and application engineers to refine and improve the user experience; 4. Partner with peers in application engineering to ensure that interactive techniques and technologies translate through to world class products and services; 5. Follow industry trends with regard to front end technologies and techniques; Qualifications 6. At least 1 years of experience with standards-based, CSS-driven XHTML layout; 7. At least 1 years of experience with Flash/Flex based projects; 8. Experience of Object Oriented ActionScript development; 9. Experience with consuming XML within Flash; 10. Experience in working with Audio assets within flash, related to ActionScript events/user interactions; 11. Experience in manipulating image files for use in Flash, with image optimization; 12. Ability to take Photoshop mockups and create high performance web pages that meet the design and technical specifications following accepted best practices for accessibility and performance; 13. Broad technical knowledge including some or all of: JavaScript, ActionScript, CSS2, AJAX, XML, XHTML, XSLT, HTML, DHTML, W3C DOM, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe CS3 and Flash, Windows Media Player, Rich UI development experience 14. Familiar with optimization techniques, both in page size perceived rendering time; 15. Understanding of unobtrusive JavaScript techniques; 16. Basic proficiency in source code management practices and familiarity with version control tools such as ClearCase; 17. Desire to learn and use new technologies; 18. Excellent written and oral communication skills; 19. Design experience a plus;
