Job description / Mission

As a Product Engineer, it will be your mission to realize projects to align our product range with the requirements of the markets served by Atlas Copco Wuxi. These markets are located primarily in China and also in countries all over the world. Projects will include new designs dedicated for local markets, localizations of existing products (from other Atlas Copco product companies), and cost reduction projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Localizations of new designs with improved performance and optimized cost (preparation of technical drawings/specifications, compilation of technical reports, lab tests of prototypes).

2. Make new designs based on requirements of local markets.

3. Continuous quality improvement of all current products, combined with cost reduction projects.

4. Design “first time right” by designing for assembly (cooperation with production), designing for manufacturing (cooperation with suppliers), designing for service (cooperation with CTS) and designing for superior performance.

5. Continuous and strong interaction with the other design centers in the Atlas Copco Group, use same and agreed development process and development tools.

Knowledge / Educational requirements

1. Bachelor or master degree in Mechanical Engineering, graduated in the field of Thermodynamics, compressors, cryogenics will be a plus.

2. Basic knowledge in machinery design and willing to learn in technical area.

3. Mandarin mother tongue and good knowledge of English both oral and writing.

4. Knowledge of MS Office. Experience with Lotus Notes, CAD tools and MRP systems is an asset.

1. Implement process instruction for new product in close relationship with AC Wilrijk

2. Implement process changes (PN's) in close relationship with AC Wilrijk

3. Implement small design changes ( DN's) in close relationship with AC Wilrijk

Job description / Mission

1. As process engineering responsible for the centrifugal compressor core you evaluate production test results. If required you give instructions to modify the assembly or you modify the aerodynamic design to match the required performances. Analytical design tools and CAD tools are available for this task.

2. You are expected to follow-up the daily production. When process engineering input is required you provide instructions to assist the manufacturing of parts, the assembly and the test of compressor cores. Also you support the quality processes in the shop.

3. For non-standard orders within a given predefined range, you make an adapted centrifugal compressor design to meet the specific clients' requirements.

4. You are responsible to gather all field problem issues regarding the centrifugal compressor core. You perform analysis of failures and determine the route cause of failures in collaboration with specialists in other teams. You report via the available databases. You provide engineering support to the service department for maintenance or repair of units in the field.

5. When enough experience is gathered, you will give input to product development teams for improved centrifugal compressor designs.

Knowledge / Educational requirements

1. Experience in aero dynamics and mechanical product design or manufacturing is an asset

2. Min. Bachelor degree in aero dynamics or mechanic.

3. Good English communication skills in both oral and written.

4. Good computer skill in such as Auto CAD, Microsoft office, etc.
