WRI Beijing office is seeking a highly motivated graduate or college student
 to be a part-time intern for the Climate and Energy Program. 

Position Summary:
The World Resources Institute (WRI) Beijing office seeks a part-time Research
 Intern (10-20 hours per week) to provide research support to the China Energy
 Efficiency Financing project of the Climate and Energy Program. This project
 is piloting scalable models for attracting financing for energy efficiency
 projects in the industrial sectors in the Shanghai area. 
 

The intern will be paid monthly at the rate of 20 RMB/Hour.  The intern will
 be expected to come to WRI's office at least once a week and he or she can
 work remotely the rest of the time as appropriate.  The intern is expected
 to be on board as soon as possible and provide research support to the project
 team till Aug. 31, 2011 with the possibility for extension. 

Major Responsibilities:
The Research Intern will support the China Energy Efficiency project team
 in the following areas, including:
"       Research
o       Conduct literature review, collect and analyze data related to savings 
potential of energy efficiency equipment, and draft summaries on ESCO or 
EMC market, government energy efficiency incentive policies and programs,
 energy efficiency financing programs  
o       Other research activities per requests
"       Translation
o       Draft translation per request from the project team.  Translation may include
 newsletter, power point, report summaries, internal documents and research
 paper. Good technical vocabulary in the areas of finance and energy efficiency
 technologies in both Chinese and English will be needed.
"       Others
o       Other activities per the request of GHG Protocol China Research Assistant

Qualifications:
"       Enrolled graduate student or senior in college
"       Major in finance, public policies, or economics
"       Interested in and experience in topics related to EMC or ESCos, energy 
efficiency, and finance
"       Previous experience in financial analysis and banking is preferred 
"       Strong analytical and organizational skills; 
"       Fluent in Chinese and English
"       Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and PDF.
  
"       Attention to details
"       Response to request in a timely manner
"       Ability to work independently with little supervision
