 quantitative, yet our interactions are direct and informal.

We are currently recruiting Business Associates and Business Analytics Associa
tes for our Shanghai office, for summer internship.

What is the Business Associate role?
Business Associates are active participants in creating and delivering solutio
ns for our clients and project teams. BAs leverage their analytic skills to de
rive insights and solve problems. In particular, BAs are often engaged in deve
loping customer insight, applying problem-solving frameworks to client issues 
and supporting clients in change initiatives.

As a Business Associate, you will have opportunities in many areas, such as:
•	Design qualitative and quantitative market research instruments (surve
ys, interviews, etc.)
•	Design custom analysis in applications such as MS Excel or ZS propriet
ary software
•	Integrate qualitative and quantitative information to create insight i
nto client issues
•	Leverage problem solving skills and frameworks to develop solutions 
•	Synthesize and communicate results to clients and ZS teams 
•	Collaborate with client and ZS teams to implement solutions
•	Gain immediate responsibility for project deliverables 
•	Take initiative to advance your problem solving skills and ZS' capabi
lities

What is the Business Analytics Associate role?
Business Analytics Associates (BAAs) are active participants in creating and d
elivering solutions for our clients and project teams. BAAs leverage their ana
lytic skills to derive insights and solve problems. In particular, BAAs employ
 advanced analytic techniques in areas such as modeling, simulation and optimi
zation.
As a Business Analytics Associate, you will have opportunities in many areas, 
such as:
•	Develop advanced statistical models that relate marketing or sales act
ivities to financial results
•	Simulate the impact of a client's future marketing or sales activitie
s on their future real-world results
•	Leverage optimization techniques to guide clients and ZS teams to the 
best decisions
•	Design custom analysis tools in applications such as Visual Basic, MS 
Excel, MS Access, SAS and ZS proprietary software
•	Synthesize and communicate results to clients and ZS teams
•	Collaborate with client and ZS teams to implement solutions
•	Gain immediate responsibility for project deliverables
•	Take initiative to advance your analytic and problem solving skills an
d train others at ZS 


ZS welcomes candidates with bachelor's or master's degrees in any discipline. 
A very strong record of academic success is required, preferably including sig
nificant coursework in quantitative or research-based disciplines. Candidates 
who apply should have a 3.2 GPA or better.

Business Associates and Business Analytics Associates come from diverse academ
ic backgrounds and may have degrees in business, economics, marketing, physica
l and life sciences, statistics or other fields.

In addition to strong academic performance, successful Business Associates als
o have broadly applicable consulting skills such as:
•	High motivation, good work ethic, maturity, and personal initiative
•	Strong oral and written communication skills
•	Empathy, adaptability and high personal impact
•	Close attention to detail, with a quality-focused mindset
