Internship / part time work for mechanical engineer, Kudelabs

  We are a small, successful startup company that brings together the best of Silicon Valley and Southern China. Our team is half Chinese, half Western, and 100% enthusiastic about building great products that make the world a better place. 
We are currently working on a new hardware product that will be manufactured in China (and someday used worldwide). We are looking for a mechanical engineer or mechanical engineering student to help us make prototypes and work with suppliers and manufacturers here in China. We are based in downtown Guangzhou in Wuyangcun, but you'd only have to come to the office once a week.

Ideally, you bring to the table:

-Experience working with SolidWorks or Inventor
-Demonstrated interest in hands-on work building prototypes
-Basic knowledge and experience for working with aluminum and steel
-Chinese and English language skills
-The ability to troubleshoot problems and to help make good ideas even better
-Good critical thinking and communication skills 

You'll work with a team of smart folks with backgrounds at top-tier schools such as Harvard and Stanford that have demonstrated experience launching and growing successful products, teams, and companies. We expect hard work, but offer flexible schedules and a great community in return. 

This is a part time job with flexible hours, probably about 20 hours per week on average, for a few months (and hopefully years!). We will visit suppliers and factories together, work together remotely, and perhaps meet at the office once a week.

We will agree on an hourly rate to pay you that is based on your experience and productivity.
