TheCollaborativeInnovationCenterforParticlesandInteractions(CICPI)attheUniversityofScienceandTechnologyofChina(USTC)invitesapplicationsforfollowingpositions:
-Facultypositionsatassociateorfullprofessorlevelwithtenure
Candidateswhoseresearchandprofessionalaccomplishmentsadvancetheuniversity’smissionandmeetestablishedUSTCacademycriteriawouldbesupportedbyeithertheNationalThousandYoungTalentsProgram,ortheHundredTalentsProgramoftheCAS,dependingontheirachievementandacademypotential.
TheapplicantsshouldhaveaPh.D.inphysics,ademonstratedrecordofaccomplishmentinresearchasshownbyongoingresearchprograms,andapublicationrecordthatprovidesacademicproductivityandcreativity.Successfulcandidateswillenjoyhighlycollegialandinteractiveenvironment,andagenerousstartupfunding.Salarieswillbecommensuratewithexperiencesandqualificationsofthecandidates.
-Researchscientistsattheassociateandfullprofessorlevel
Thepositionsareforthreeyearswithpossibilityofextendingtoanotherthreeyears,orevenbeingpromotedtotenuredpositions,dependingonprofessionalandacademicperformance.ThesuccessfulapplicantsshouldhaveaPh.D.inphysics,ademonstratedrecordofaccomplishmentinresearchandapublicationrecordthatprovidesacademicproductivityandcreativity.
-Postdoctoralpositions
Thepositionsarefortwoyears,withapossibilityofextendingtoanothertwoyears.Thepositionscanleadtoresearchscientistsortenure-trackassistantprofessors,dependingonresearchperformanceduringtheperiodatUSTC.ThecandidatesshouldhaveaPh.D.bythedateofappointment.
CICPIatUSTCisoneoftheleadingresearchcentersinChinaforexperimentalparticleandnuclearphysics.Thecenterhostsseveralresearchgroupsinexperimentalparticleandnuclearphysicsandtheoreticalnuclearphysics.WehavetheNationalKeyLaboratoryforParticleDetectionandElectronicssupportedbytheMinistryofScienceandTechnologyofChina.
OurresearchprogramsincludebothdomesticprojectsinChinaandseverallargeinternationalcollaborations.Theseprojectsinclude:theBESIIIexperimentattheBeijingElectronPositronCollider(BEPCII);theATLASexperimentatCERN;theSTARexperimentatBNL;theJLAB12GeVupgradeprogram,theBelleexperimentatKEK;theDayabaynuclearreactorneutrinoexperiment;thespacedarkmattersearchexperimentDAMPE;theLargeAreaHighAttitudeCosmicRayprojectandthedevelopmentofpositronbeamandmuonbeamatChineseSpallationNeutronSource(CSNS).WearealsoactivelyperformingR&Doftheparticledetectionforfutureacceleratorandnon-acceleratorbasedexperiments.Theresearchfieldsoftheoreticalphysicsaremainlyphenomenologyofparticlephysics,theintermediateandhighenergynuclearphysics.
